A remarkable piece of rock history.

John Lennon used the original Vox Black Leather Python Guitar Strap on his Rickenbacker 325 when he played the Ed Sullivan Showfor his appearances in February 1964, then gave it to Eric Clapton during his Cream days in 1967. The original Python Guitar Strap was auctioned by Sotheby's for $4,500 in recent years. This 2" wide reproduction by Vox has 25 "armored" chrome plates riveted to the heavy leather strap. This historic guitar strap is just over 52" long fully extended.

  • Great Strap

As reviewed by BW on 9/8/2006

This strap is great. I got it because I was tired of my strap wearing and my guitar falling on the floor. So i decided that I was done with bad straps. I got this and it has been hard to get it off. That is a good sign. It also looks cool. But whenever people ask how much it is, I just don't tell them.

  • Beatle Icon Strap

As reviewed by MJBush on 6/22/2009

Having been a huge Beatles fan since '64 (it's the reason I took up guitar)I'm not sure whether I bought it as a strap for one my guitars or to have a piece of Beatle memorabilia.I've been craving this strap for decades and finally decided in spite of the price just to take the leap and get it.I don't regret it at all. It's a great looking piece of equipment. They certainly don't skimp on craftsmanship and leather quality. It makes any rig look great and is certainly stage worthy and a show stopper.I'd recommend it to anyone who's willing to spend the bucks.

  • My favorite strap

As reviewed by Varmint on 11/24/2006

Not cheap in construction or price. It looks great with any guitar. The metal scales are chromed steel- NOT stainless. So if you want to keep it looking good, make sure you clean it well after a gig, or the fingerprints. etc. will be hard to remove later on. Obviously, you can't use it on a guitar that has the strap pin behind the neck/body joint because of the pointy studs on it will damage your guitar's finish. It's heavier than most straps because of all that metal, but it's not a burden. I like the solid feel of it on my shoulder. I gave it a 4.5 overall rating instead of 5 because of the reasons above. Despite these minor details, it's a very well made and extremely cool looking strap. I always get nice comments whenever I wear it. If you can afford one, BUY IT!
