Availability:

It's an ideal practice amp with pure VOX vibe.

You won't have to dig deep to get great sound out of the VOX Pathfinder 15R Guitar Amp with Reverb. This player-friendly combo packs a ton of top-notch features and killer VOX sound into a package that's affordable and easy to use. It features 15W of power, a single 8" Bulldog speaker, gain boost, tremolo, and spring reverb.

Its distinctive, maroon-colored top panel features a Gain Boost switch plus controls for Volume, Gain, Treble, Bass, Tremolo Speed, and Tremolo Depth. Both the boost and tremolo are footswitchable via an optional VFS2 dual footswitch, offering you even more performance power. (See accessory box on this page.)

In addition to a headphone output that mutes the internal speaker for practice, the rear panel also has a special filtered line out jack and a speaker out. The line out gives you a good sounding signal for recording/live work without having to mic up the amp.

It sports classic VOX cosmetics like basket-weave vinyl, diamond grille cloth, white piping, gold beading, and, of course, chicken head pointer knobs.

  • Better than more expensive tube amps

As reviewed by RochesterLoner on 11/2/2006

I really think that this is the best value I have ever come across in a little amp. These things sound great, and have a very tube-like feel. The speaker is excellent for a cheap amp, and these little things can roar, too. The reverb is even decent, as is them trem. These things are just gems. I highly recommend running themthrough bigger speakers, too. I have several very nice tube amps, and the distortion on this thing has a great character that can compete reasonably with many of them. I have two of these and one of the Pathfinder 10s.

wow what a great amp. got it because it had a line out that did not switch off the speakers and previous reviews. the reviews sold it, i have never bought sound equipment without testing first. in this case i trusted the reviewers. i could not be happier. Instruments that I have played through this amp include: G&L ASAT Special Tribute Series DaSilva acoustic/electric ukulele (straight in and with RL Baggs preamp) Noname Fretless bass All instruments gave true sound (Bass and Ukulele) and the G&L with the gain gave great bluesy tone. Fantastic - Add to the Cart!

  • This is a Big little amp

As reviewed by Dr. Joe Baldassarre on 9/23/2010

The Vox Pathfinder is a lot of amp for the price. I compared it to other brands with similar power and in the same price range. The others either had cheap parts, distorted at moderate volume, or had ridiculous features. The Pathfinder is built as solidly as their stage amps, is simple to use, and has the basic (and usable) effects: Gain/Volume, Spring Reverb, and Tremolo. The tone ranges from warm to piercing and clean to grungy.
