Product Information

The rock-solid, no-compromise all-tube VOX head for the musician on the go.

Whether you're adding your hot sound to a late-night demo, sitting in at your favorite club, or jamming with friends, the Night Train NT15H is your new best friend. Whenever and wherever, the Vox Night Train will deliver that smooth and satisfying all-tube sound. You don't want to choose between killer sound and total convenience—with the Vox Night Train amp head you never will.

If Looks Could Kill
Solid enough to inspire confidence, Night Train weighs just under 17 pounds, and the "armored lunchbox" dimensions provide extreme portability. Finished with a cool chrome mirror-finish, the signature VOX diamond design reveals that inspiring vacuum-tube glow. And of course, the Night Train NT15H guitar amp includes its own padded carry case to protect your investment.

True Tube Power
The sound is pure VOX. Inside, a pair of EL84 tubes deliver on the tube power promise. Two 12AX7 tubes drive the preamp stage with both power and clarity. This is the same winning tube complement as the classic VOX AC15. From chime-like clean tones to the warmest overdrive, there is no mistaking that harmonic richness of pure tube performance.

Dual Nature
The Vox Night Train's single switch lets you select between Pentode or Triode tube operation. In the Pentode mode, Night Train delivers a full 15 watts of power. In the Triode mode, the power is cut to 7.5 watts. The Triode mode also relaxes the tube power stage, letting that silky-smooth, mellow tube character shine through.

Preamp Pizzazz
Night Train greets you with a clear, simple panel design, offering the familiar Gain and Volume controls. The Tone controls include Treble, Middle and Bass, allowing you to dial up just the right character for your individual, signature tone. In addition, the preamp section features a mode switch, offering both Bright and Thick options. The Bright mode accentuates the high-frequency components for a clear, ringing tone; the Thick setting bypasses the tone circuit to boost the gain and create a chunkier, heavier sound.

Cabinet Convenience
Equipped with both 8- and 16-ohm speaker jacks, Night Train amp head can be used immediately with nearly any speaker cabinet. This extra measure of versatility is just one more example of why the Vox Night Train might be the one amp you never leave at home.

With our Guaranteed Lowest Price, you can be assured of complete satisfaction and the lowest available price, or your money back!

NEW REVIEW - Grand

Absolutely wondrous. Soo glad i picked this. The cleans are beautiful. This amp has no reverb but trust me, you wont need it. The distortion covers anything from Fleet Foxes to Megadeth (that also covers my musical preference). It is definitely loud enough for practice and small gigs. There are two reasons why im giving this a four and not a five:1) No EQ on Distortion Channel (scoopable mids would be nice) and 2) its a tad noisy

NEW REVIEW - Very versatile and convenient

This amp is very versatile. It makes my LP sound almost like a tele with the trebble turned all the way up. It's very bright. A Fender probably would be very harsh with this head but a humbucker balances the tone for me. I have to manage the mids and bass when I overdrive it becasue they definately need more bulk. Without more bass it's kind of like an ice pick. I go for a chimey tone on clean and if I need a Mountain style overdrive I can turn the trebble off. Completely off. At zero! It's only a few pounds and I play in a church band so it's easy to lug. If it's not backordered or anything I would definately reccommend this head. The thick switch gives as much drive as you will need shy of metal but you can't use the eq.

Smokin Studio Amp

wow .. iam pretty happy with this amp. im running the night train thru an egnater rebel cab. i use this primarily in my studio but it's definately loud enough for small gigs/band rehearsals. you can dial in a wide range of sounds from the vox "chime" to a pretty decent snarl. i was looking specifically for a low wattage studio amp so i tried several out, (rebel, tinyterror, etc) and found the vox to be the best choice for me!

Oh yeah...

So I have been looking for awhile now for a way to slim down my rig. After trying this amp out I fell in love with it. At low volumes it sparkles, the cleans are smooth and roll out with almost no break up. Turn the volume up twords one o'clock and you can that ZZ Top lagrange tone. Boost the gain and you can get full on rock distortion. Finally flip the bright switch to thick and you can even get some early Metal tones. I mean it's just such a cool little amp. Run it through a little 2x12 combo and you have a great little rig for practice, record, and yes even play live with. It will get loud enough to be heard over a full band. All in all you will not be disapointed.

AWESOME!!!

I am a Marshall guy tried and true. I am shocked by the pure tone of this little monster. I had no idea you could get this great of a tone both chime and growl like this for $500. I have $4000 in some of my heads and this thing takes the prize for what it is. I bought a used Vox 2x12 with blue bell Alnico 15 watt speakers and it is perfect! I get Thud at low volumes. Most importantly is the way it makes the strings feel. If you play clean there is natural compression that makes it easy to play(sustain) and doesnt take your ears out with treble. When you turn up the gain this thing is crystal clear in definition. There is no pedal needed with this amp. Period. AWESOME!!!!!!!
