The VOX Custom AC30 30W tube guitar combo amp in British Racing Green offers two channels, Normal and Top-Boost. Each channel is equipped with its own Volume control, and the Top Boost channel offers highly interactive Treble and Bass tone controls. This powerful channel pairing provides an abundance of tone-crafting control.

Sweeten your Custom Series amp using the VOX Classic Tremolo effect. Both speed and depth are adjustable, allowing you to generate just the sound you want. A warm spring reverb is also included, adding spaciousness to the sound. You can use the VOX VFS2 footswitch to turn the Reverb and Tremolo effects on and off as you continue to play.

  • VOX AC30 Does What Others Can't!

    First off, I want to preface this review with the fact that I either now own or have owned most major brand amps (sans VOX) available to the average consumer. I have never thought of trying out an AC30 before because I just thought it was a one trick pony. I mean c'mon, the Normal channel has 3 knobs, Volume, Master Volume, & Tone Cut....how in hell can I get "my" tone if someone else has already tweaked the tone knobs! I saw this Limited Edition Racing Green model with Greenbacks and with a coupon I had it was a pretty good deal so I said what the hell! It arrived and thought I could use it for clean stuff and U2 type music. When I first plugged it in I was amazed at the tone. It sounded like a Fender Twin with hair on it. The Normal channel had a great classic tone to it and the Top Boost channel was a bit more modern and you can crank the volume (gain) up all the way to get a Bryan May(ish) sort of tone. I played around with it for a few days before I was able to put my pedal board in front of it. When I made a few adjustments to my pedals this amp came alive! I can't stress enough how good this amp takes pedals. It adds a whole new dimension to your overdrive/distortion pedals. I use a HARDWIRE SC2 Distortion pedal (note: it does a lot more than distortion) and I'll admit, in the front of some amps this pedal sucks ass, but the VOX AC30 just added to the tone and sustain and smoothed out all the rough spots! Plugged into the Normal channel the El84's sings like a bird! The closet thing I have found to the tone is my 1989 Marshall JCM800 1959 non-mv which is way too loud to use in the clubs I play in. The tone is there, the amp cuts very well(thanks Celestion Greenbacks), and the sustain & feedback are amazing! For the classic rock I play this is the perfect amp. My Egnater Rebel, Fender Deluxe, Fender Twin, Marshall 6100, & Bugera 1990 are all up for sale!
