  I have had this pedal for about 2 months now and I absolutely love it! When you dial up a good mix between the gain and clean knobs, you can really get a killer clean tone. Personally, I don't believe that it is a great higher gain overdrive pedal, but it stacks nicely with other overdrives. I run it mainly before my Fulltone Fulldrive 2 and it sounds really great! Definently worth the price if you are looking for a great clean drive pedal! If that's what you are looking into getting, you won't be dissapointed!

• The Smoothest of Overdrive

  My friend is letting me borrow this pedal, and I have to say that this pedal is the smoothest sounding overdrive I have ever heard. The only thing it can't do is provide raging metal tones, but that's not what overdrive pedals are for anyways. It has a perfect clean boost, like no other pedal I have heard. It sounds perfect through the clean channel of my Mesa Dual Rectifier Roadster. As a matter of fact, it provides pure tube warmth without adding breakup, if used for a clean boost. At a light overdrive, it also sounds fantastic through all four channels. It sounds great with light breakup, and it sounds even better to push the distortion channel with the light breakup from the sparkle drive, resulting in an overall balanced, mid-rich, smooth guitar lead/rhythm tone. When maxed out, this pedal provides tons of dynamics and makes it quite facilitated when it comes to adjusting your tone from your fingertips. If it comes to blues, jazz, or screaming sweep arpeggios, this pedal is the best thing. It has well-earned 5 stars for me, way to go voodoo lab!

• A Truly Dynamic Overdrive

  I received the VooDoo Labs Sparkle Drive a couple of years ago as a gift. When I first tried it out, i was playing a second rate guitar thorough a practice amp and i was delighted by how much warmth and harmonic complexity the pedal coaxed out. The box is small enough to be entirely unobtrusive on your pedal board, and the casing feels like it could stand up to more abuse than i would likely subject it to. The knobs turn smoothly and the tone shaping controls are very effective. I always find myself with the tone control between 9:00 and 3:00, so there are plenty of highs and lows available depending on your taste. This pedal sounds similar to a vintage ts808, but it is better in my opinion, because it costs less, and it has a unique and very useful "clean" control which means if you love the way your amp sounds clean, and you dont want to compramise that tone in order to get your gritty distortion tones, you can find a balance of the two that sounds best. I always have the pedal on because it sounds so natural. It can even be kicked on as a clean boost! But it delivers plenty of thick distortion when that is called for as well. Basically, Unless heavy hitting European Black metal is your thing, this pedal won't disappoint.
