Purchased my UHF-5800 for use in church type situations. Was somewhat hesitant over the quality of the handhelds--felt "cheap". Purchased on the advice of my regular salesperson, as he had field-tested them on several occasions. After set-up and eq of system--was "blown away" with the sound quality. Sound was as good or better than my higher priced wireless units and some of my higher priced wired mics; average ears will not tell the difference. I like the rack mounting; as all my equipment is in rack cases due to travel issues. Tried from one end of my home to the other with no interference through walls etc. Generally I only regularly use two mics; but, like having the others for spares and/or additional vocals. The custom case for carrying the mics and accessories is a nice plus. Only adds were foam windscreens and a 1/4 to XLR adapter to use the mix output to a balanced input on sound board. Looking to see how it will hold up under the travel over time. Overall, a nice addition to my set up. For those on a budget--worth the money (so far)!!

I purchased this system because of the high ratings. I have had problems with a couple of the mics cutting off for a few seconds while people are peforming. This happens mostly with the yellow and white mics. This happens more after the first singers and seems to happen less as the night goes on. I just read where other people have been having the same problem. They sound good when working properly. I don't recommend them. I purchased a cheap UHF that haven't given me any problems.

Great product compared with the price

By A Ponce

from San Bernardino, CA

I recently bought these microphones for our church and they have been working very well. We've been using all at the same time (4 units) and we haven't had any problem with frequencies. I recommend this product!

Great Price/Not reliable ... You get what you pay for!

By shed washington

from Long Beach, CA

If you want a cheep mic that is unpredictable then this is your mic. I have been thru 6 in 4 years and they still don't work right. They go in and out during songs at Karaoke, speeches at Weddings and now for the 7th incident mine just burned out and does not work at all. I was lucky to have one plug in mic at my show so no duets last night. "DON'T WAIST YOUR TIME OR MONEY!" You will get what you pay for. If you want good equipment you have to pay the money.

Worst microphones I've ever used!

By Andrey Chepurnoy

from Sacramento, CA

Features: Great price on a 4-channel set of wireless mics. Thats the end of the feature list. Quality & Reliability: I went through 2 sets of these, and in each set, one of the mics was defective out of the box. Either no connection to the receiver or no audio from the transmitter. The wireless part of these wireless mics is next to useless. At about 15 feet distance from the receiver, with no possible sources of interference, the mics will cut out. The squelch control on the receiver makes no difference, and the manual doesn't do much to help understand which settings should be used. The build quality of the microphones themselves is really low. Cheap plastic battery slider that feels like it won't last more than a few battery changes. Look & Feel: They look pretty good on the box, or maybe on a bookshelf somewhere. Other than that they are pretty useless. The mics feel cheap and light. The colors of the mic sets are very random depending on which set of frequencies you get...I had brown, gray, blue, and green. From any distance...the brown and gray are impossible to tell apart. My Advice: STAY AWAY from these mics. Save yourself the headache and the trouble of returning them. Find a better set (ANYTHING else available), they really aren't all that much more expensive, but will definitely be more durable then this toy of a microphone. Hope this honest review helps, because the only reason I decided to try these out is because of so many positive reviews, but after going through two sets of these, it's obvious they are extremely low quality. VocoNo, I'll be looking at a more reputable microphone brand.

Kind of upset at the product and the service!

By Simon Marquez

from El Centro, CA

I bought this set and wasn't sure about the quality because I did research on them, and turns out they are known for karaoke. I own an entertainment company but needed a cheaper set for shows with lesser known artists and DJs. I noticed right away that two microphones were transmitting through the same receiver (there are 4 channels). I called VocoPro and they told me that I had to purchase another Mic and receiver at $80, in case I don't return the defected one! I asked for the manager and was upset. He finally dropped the new channel hardware to $40 (I thought I should have paid $0) but I needed them right away for a show that weekend. Needless to say, the new unit did the same thing! They are great when they work, but good luck with that & their service..

Cheap system, unreliable

By Mike

from Tustin, California

Bought two 4 of these brand new mics system #3 and #4. One of them appear tested before as the battery were installed in 3 mics and one of them was out of the bag and not working. The second system looks new, but the same as the other one, one of the mics did not work. It appear that the manufacturer sells these system without even testing them. I would pay more but have them working at least. Returned and done with them.

Great bang for buck.

By Eric

from Lincoln, NE

I've used my set for two years this month. Two of the mics don't work, but I haven't troubleshot at all. Could be the mics, could be the receivers, could be the chassis. I dunno. Either way, there's nothing else on the market that does what this does. The mics sound pretty good, if a little particular about range (which I like from a feedback avoidance perspective.) Pyle Pro makes a 4-mic wireless setup, but the antennae exit out the back, which doesn't work in my setup, which is a 10Ux4U SKB roto molded case. I also have the feeling that the Pyle product is just like everything else I've experience made by Pyle. Does what it says it'll do, and just barely, and not well. The Pyle unit also lacks individual gain and squelch control, which is offered on the VocoPro unit. And, they're not field replaceable receivers. Not that VocoPro feels like much better quality, as the battery doors on the mics are horrible, the antennae are subject to damage (should be flexible rather than rigid hinged units), and two of the mics just randomly stopped working, not due to damage or any other identifiable circumstance. They mics are comfortable to hold. I'd like it if the texture was a bit more pronounced, so that if the singer's hand is wet from a glass with condensation on it, that they'd have better grip. They're pretty tough, too, since mine get dropped sometimes and have yet to perform differently as a result. There's an indicator LED right above the ON/OFF switch to give you some battery status, but it's a little misleading. The light comes on when the battery is low, so people new to using it don't think it's on. I'd rather be able to see that it's on so that it isn't draining batteries, which I've had happen. Having said all that, I'll be buying another set, since like I said, nothing else does what these do and for the money, you really can't beat it. The range is totally acceptable, and the sound is just what I like for karaoke shows. I've used these for over 200 shows, and two of them are still going strong, one of which took a dip in soapy bar sink water for a couple seconds. Go figure. My biggest problem with VocoPro is that you can't just order replacement antennae or mic/reciever sets. They make them field-serviceable but you can't order the parts without calling? What sense does that make?

Works like a charm

By E. Pulido

from Laredo TX

I bought the VocoPro UHF-5800 on 9/8/2010 for a live band. I was skeptical because of the price, you know the saying, 'you get what you pay for'. Well, so far I've used these mics indoors and outdoors with absolutely no problems. The AA-battery life is excellent. On Oct 30, I used the original AA's for about the fourth gig. Still going. All four band members sing and all four are surprised of the sound clarity and punch. I set the squelch at 12 o'clock on all 4 channels and have not had to adjust them since day-1.

VOCO MICS

By Lazarus

from Cincinnati, Ohio

I just bought these mics less than a week ago, I did a big show @ a college student center they worked great, quick set up and breakdown, the color tips helped alot, the only think that took some time to get adjusted to was their weight, I'm used to using mics that are heavier, other than that great buy. I caught them on sale, I even tempted to buy a second spare set. God Bless!!
