Purchased my UHF-5800 for use in church type situations. Was somewhat hesitant over the quality of the handhelds--felt "cheap". Purchased on the advice of my regular salesperson, as he had field-tested them on several occasions. After set-up and eq of system--was "blown away" with the sound quality. Sound was as good or better than my higher priced wireless units and some of my higher priced wired mics; average ears will not tell the difference. I like the rack mounting; as all my equipment is in rack cases due to travel issues. Tried from one end of my home to the other with no interference through walls etc. Generally I only regularly use two mics; but, like having the others for spares and/or additional vocals. The custom case for carrying the mics and accessories is a nice plus. Only adds were foam windscreens and a 1/4 to XLR adapter to use the mix output to a balanced input on sound board. Looking to see how it will hold up under the travel over time. Overall, a nice addition to my set up. For those on a budget--worth the money (so far)!!

Features: Great price on a 4-channel set of wireless mics. Thats the end of the feature list. Quality & Reliability: I went through 2 sets of these, and in each set, one of the mics was defective out of the box. Either no connection to the receiver or no audio from the transmitter. The wireless part of these wireless mics is next to useless. At about 15 feet distance from the receiver, with no possible sources of interference, the mics will cut out. The squelch control on the receiver makes no difference, and the manual doesn't do much to help understand which settings should be used. The build quality of the microphones themselves is really low. Cheap plastic battery slider that feels like it won't last more than a few battery changes. Look & Feel: They look pretty good on the box, or maybe on a bookshelf somewhere. Other than that they are pretty useless. The mics feel cheap and light. The colors of the mic sets are very random depending on which set of frequencies you get...I had brown, gray, blue, and green. From any distance...the brown and gray are impossible to tell apart. My Advice: STAY AWAY from these mics. Save yourself the headache and the trouble of returning them. Find a better set (ANYTHING else available), they really aren't all that much more expensive, but will definitely be more durable then this toy of a microphone. Hope this honest review helps, because the only reason I decided to try these out is because of so many positive reviews, but after going through two sets of these, it's obvious they are extremely low quality. VocoNo, I'll be looking at a more reputable microphone brand.

Comments about VocoPro UHF-5800 4-Microphone Wireless System:

With a need to use this item within the next week, I am forced to either open the unit up and tighten the connector, thus voiding the warrantee, or return the unit which could tie it up for weeks thus causing me to scramble to find a portable sound system (which is the reason I bought the unit in the first place).

Comments about VocoPro UHF-5800 4-Microphone Wireless System:

I got this system as I started my DJ business. I have had them for about a year and a half. They have worked great as far as sound and distance. The reason I gave them a two is because in that amount of time and not used that much the power switch on two of the four mics themselves have broke. They broke in the off position so I can't even just leave them on and mute them from the mixer. I did not purchase the extended warranty because it seems I never use it when I do. My fault, but you still would think the things you buy will work forever. I will not buy another item from VocoPro and just bite the bullet and get the better brands.

Comments about VocoPro UHF-5800 4-Microphone Wireless System:

I bought these to use for a bunch of rappers that I run sound for using a Bose L1 system. They had a set of 4-in-one mics, but the owner moved away. Found the 5800's on Musicians Friend and tried it out. Haven't used them out on a gig yet, but am very impressed with the sound in the studio. Not quite up to par with my favorite wired mic, an Audix OM5, but for the money, very, very close.

I am going to try them out with my band too, I think they will do the job. We each use our own L1 system, so I can direct out each mic. Will add to a cleaner stage look.

Easy to set up, simple volume control between the mics. Very flexible outputs, grouped or individual. The individual outputs are a bit cleaner, more volume, tighter sound, less mushy bass.

Can't vouch for battery life, reliability, or longevity, but will update later.

      Bottom line, Great-bang-for-the-buck!
I bought an open box set from MF, good price.

      PS
Buy a Bose L1 Model II as well. :)

Two channels cut out, no appearant correlation to battery service or sound input. 5-15' range, SQ control makes no change. Other two channels run strong & consistent. Frustrating to have such a promising tool act erratic.

If you want a cheep mic that is unpredictable then this is your mic. I have been thru 6 in 4 years and they still don't work right. They go in and out during songs at Karaoke, speeches at Weddings and now for the 7th incident mine just burned out and does not work at all. I was lucky to have one plug in mic at my show so no duets last night. "DON'T WAIST YOUR TIME OR MONEY!" You will get what you pay for. If you want good equipment you have to pay the money.
