CONSUMER ALERT

Most users do not need a license to operate this wireless microphone system. Nevertheless, operating this microphone system without a license is subject to certain restrictions: the system may not cause harmful interference; it must operate at a low power level (not in excess of 50 milliwatts); and it has no protection from interference received from any other device. Purchasers should also be aware that the FCC is currently evaluating use of wireless microphone systems, and these rules are subject to change. For more information, call the FCC at 1-888-CALL-FCC (TTY: 1-888-TELL-FCC) or visit the FCCs wireless microphone website at http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/wirelessmicrophones.

  • IR not a good solution

As reviewed by Bob on 4/22/2011

I wrote the other review about not working with direct line of sight. We have since then move the receiver on top of the speakers and aim it at the singers (karaoke) which has been a workaround for drop outs. However a new issue arose, we started playing in a place with about 20 TV's and guess what? Big time crackling popping noise when you bring the mic down low at waist level and increasingly getting worse so assuming using the same FCC infrared frequencies as TV's. Tried moving the remote sensor around with no luck. I called their tech support line and requested a swap out with a frequency based solution, no go. I am very disappointing in this product.

  • IR 9000

As reviewed by Brandy on 9/20/2009

I bought this system because of the lack of possible need for FCC licensing. I have had the system for 6 months, and I use it once per week for one hour every month. It has problems with reception, even in a small room. Lots of drop-outs. Already one microphone has quit working. It started with lots of fuzz in the sound and then the receiver just quit recognizing the mic. I have not been pleased with this product.

  • No Go for Pro Applications

As reviewed by Bitchin' Bob on 6/28/2010

Pros: Good microphone sound quality, wide frequency range of pickup in the low and high frequency bandwidth. Seems to keep a good charge of about 5 hours. No clicks or pops when turning microphone on or off. Green light is on when microphone is on. Cons: Terrible reception, if anything (including screens) comes between the mic and the rack receiver it cuts out, even if it's 3 feet away from the receiver if there is not a line sight it will cut out, I would not recomend this for any professional applications unless the mic is in a stationary position. Range is about 30 feet with direct line of site. Useless as a rack design receiver as normally the PA rack will be out of line of site to the microphone. Best solution would be to hang receiver from the ceiling, however that is simply not logical. The charge contacts are thin and flimsy and appear to be an alloy not copper. (maybe to avoid corrosion?)
