Most users do not need a license to operate this wireless microphone system. Nevertheless,
operating this microphone system without a license is subject to certain restrictions:
the system may not cause harmful interference; it must operate at a low power level
(not in excess of 50 milliwatts); and it has no protection from interference received
from any other device. Purchasers should also be aware that the FCC is currently
evaluating use of wireless microphone systems, and these rules are subject to change.

I have the older 3300 unit. It?s been a work horse; for a cheaper set of mics they sound pretty good, for karaoke they work just fine. The MHz range those fall under are now not supposed to be used so I thought I?d go for the upgraded 3308 unit. I will say I love the option of having a place to put them and to charge them up at the same time. Very cool.
I bought the VocoPro 3308 Dual Channel VHF Wireless Microphone Set Regular Channel 4 unit. I charged up the mics using the supplied AA batteries. I set them up in my system and man, what a huge disappointed. I set up the Mackie mixer with the exact same settings as I use for the 3300 unit and boy oh boy, what a muddy and distorted sound came out. I had to roll off a lot of bass and ramp up the mid and treble to get anywhere close to the ?clarity? of the older 3300 unit.
Granted, these aren?t pro mics but again, for karaoke and as my drunk mics (people who can sing and care for my equipment get to use my corded SM58?s); this ?upgrade? sucks big time.
I?m bring them back and I?ll look for a UHF unit (bleeding from the local water company radios came through this unit, even though it?s not on the old MHz range?) that I hope will have either a recharge station of the AA battery option which last a very long time..
If you?re looking for a set of rechargeable and cost effective mics, look elsewhere. Vocopro, you?ve let me down.
