Overview

The Visual Sound V2JH is two separate overdrive effects in one pedal, each with separate controls, and each with its own personality. They can be used separately or blended together. Jekyll accurately reproduces the sound of the original TS808 Tube Screamer, providing depth and smooth sustain. The Hyde part is a heavier extremely versatile overdrive with more bottom. Use the Jekyll & Hyde pedal's EQ to scoop out the midrange for a wide range of tones and a Sharp/Blunt switch to go from compressed to very bright. The sonic possibilities are endless.

The V2 Jekyll & Hyde pedal features redesigned noise reduction and improved mid control on the Hyde channel, plus additional low-drive range on the Jekyll channel. Besides that and the sweet new V2 housing, the V2JH stompbox delivers the same great overdrive and distortion tones that the Jekyll & Hyde pedal is famous for.I

From its first appearance in 1997, the Jekyll & Hyde was the first stompbox to combine two separate effects in one pedal. Now ten years later the V2 Series gives you the same great tone guitarists have come to love, plus an added noise reduction system, creating the ultimate guitar dream!

Each channel of the newly designed Jekyll & Hyde has separate controls, giving you the ability to use them singly, or together. The Jekyll Overdrive channel delivers more output volume than the original TS-808--far surpassing its predecessor. The Hyde side is more than just a turbo version of Jekyll. With heavier distortion and more bottom end, this crazy distortion pedal is extremely versatile!

From Visual Sounds V2 Series, the V2JH Jekyll & Hyde Overdrive and Distortion Multi Effects Pedal features a diecast aluminum housing, ultra-reliable 10 million cycle switching, easy battery access and circuit protection from AC adapters.

This pedal is awesome!!! I bought this pedal through a recomedation of a friend, and I do not regret getting it. It is by far the best overdrive and distortion pedal I have owned. The noise reduction circut on the distorition side of the pedal is great. With regular distorition pedals you get a bad hum when you turn it on, but with this pedal it does not make a sound until you hit the strings. I have recomended it to alot of musicians and they have all been satisfied.

I test drove this pedal at Guitar Center and ended up taking it with me knowing I had 30 days to return it. And that's exactly what I plan on doing. Not that it's a bad pedal but it has just too much crunch for me. I thought I wanted something that could give me a little extra distortion than just the normal over-driven sound but the distortion is too much like a buzz saw. Good pedal for a heavier style of playing though. Also, as far as I can tell, this pedal does not have true bypass switching.

the holy grail of distortion pedals

By john eklund

from new york, new york

been searching for that right gritty distortion sound that i can also manipulate for different type of songs or music, ive been through all the other well known pedals; getting frustrated because i wasnt able to get that sound i wanted, this is an awesome pedal, well built, it will not break on you, prob been through the ringer from gigs, and moving and dropping it so much, but no scratches at all yet, another thing i found helpful is that its simple also

Extremely satisfied!

By victor rodriguez

from Miramar, Fl

Bought this after reading the many positive reviews and I couldn't be more pleased. Running this through my 65 Fender Twin Reverb and a Epiphone Les Paul as my axe. Overdrive has many options, just have to tweak to find the sound your looking for. Can dial up slight overdrive to fat blues. Incredibly surprised with the distortion side of the pedal. Cranked up the distortion and loved the heavy sound I got from it, (even through the Fender Twin). Compared it at home with a friend's Boss pedals, (Boss distortion, Boss metal, and Boss Superoverdrive). I thought the Jekyll and Hyde completely blew them away, not even close. Cosmetically, it's a great looking pedal and seems sturdy, (I've had it 3 months- so hopefully it'll hold up). For the price- can't go wrong-it's 2 pedals in one!

Amazing pedal, love it!!!

By NICOLAS APARICIO

from Bogota

I was a little bit worried about the real sound of this pedal, I mean, worried about the sound changing a lot from youtube to the real deal, but I was amazed by how versatile it is. I spend all day playing lots of different stuff like audioslave, metallica, joe satriani, guthrie govan, red hot chili peppers, pink floyd and even dream theater and it fits everything. Amazing price, amazing sound, amazing look, don't hesitate when buying it. By the way, I will use it in metal, having the distortion in main guitars and applying overdrive to solos which gives a nice round sound and can even boost it without using a compressor or booster.

Joyful fuzz.

By Calen Mulenburg

from Minnesota

This pedal is perfect. I picked it up because my amps dirty channel wasn't cutting it for me any more. I absolutely love it. The distortion is nice and fuzzy, which suits me very well. I play a lot of different punk and grunge, and a lot of experimental noise rock stuff. This pedal works great for me, and it can definitely be used for plenty more. I don't use the overdrive option all that much, but it's got a nice feel to it when you need something extra. This is a great pedal that can be used for any genre you play, and I'd recommend it.

The Best Pedal, Period

By Thomas Nelson

from Newport News, VA

This pedal is great! SUPER versatile. You can get tones from a light overdrive for country or indie, all the way to black metal-worthy distortion. It is absolutely necessary no matter what type of music you play. You CAN NOT find a better distortion or overdrive for the price (or for a higher price, for that matter). The casing, switches, and knobs are super durable. There is nothing I would change about this pedal at all. It is perfect.

Consistency is the name of the game.

By Doug Carpenter

I've been gigging with this pedal for the last 2 years and have been nothing but happy with the range of tones I can achieve. I run from various Schecter guitars into a couple effects, through the overdrive of the J&H, and into the dirty channel on my Valveking overtop a mesa cab. I use top quality gear because you have to be comfortable onstage and this pedal delivers. It has been the constant in my rig. Still looks and sounds like the day I bought it. Don't be afraid about the lack of a true bypass. This pedal's buffer really cleans up any noise in my signal chain. BUY IT!!!

Nice preservation of tone

By Nooooj!

I was using a Marshall Jackhammer, quite limiting. This is a definite improvement. The built in Noise gate is great with a single coil set up. Seems quite durable, solid feel to the build.

AMAZING!

By Brad

from Indianapolis, IN

if you are looking for a split distortion pedal, this is by far the best pick for you.... it has a light, bluesy distortion sound and a heavier sound for the real rockers. And you can also combine the two to get the best sound out of it. and the bass booster switch makes this pedal sound the way it sounds....i highly recommend it
