I bought this pedal used from Guitar Center, for about $40. I have another Visual Sound pedal which the 808 Overdrive pedal and it works great. So I figured why not give this one a try. The pedal adds loads of new tones and is versatile whether you play blues like Stevie Ray Vaughan, shred like Steve Vai or play rock like Van Halen; this pedal does it all. If you are looking for a very high quality pedal that doesn't cost $100-$200 you will not be disappointed. I would recommend this pedal to any level guitar player. Side note, when I received this pedal used there was not a scratch on it. It was almost mint.
After seeing Kenny Olson (ex Kid Rock) on you tube using this I wanted one bad. You can get some real vibey Trower sounding stuff, and some other real modulating sounds. This and all Visual Sound pedals are worth at least trying out.
It can go from subtle to pushy. It's a little bit modern-sounding, but I could not tell until I A-Bd it with a Phase-90. It is almost a dead-ringer for nearly any vintage phase tone, from EVH to Gilmour. It even can be reminiscent of Rhoads, if the setup is right. I use, among other things, a GT-OD by MXR. With these two pedals and my Les Paul, I can nail the "Ain't Talkin' About Love" tone. I love this little thing!
