Much heavier than a wood 5b. In hopes Vic Firth comes out with a lighter 5a

Comments about Vic Firth Titan Carbon Fiber Drumsticks:

The durability is unreal. The titans finally broke after six months, practicing for an hour a day, and many concerts. Also, at first I was hesitant to buy these because I was worried about the sound, but these sticks sound like wood sticks. The only thing that is different, is that it adds attack; it makes my whole kit sound amazing.

      Durable Sticks

      By Autumn

      from Litchfield Park, Arizona

Comments about Vic Firth Titan Carbon Fiber Drumsticks:

These sticks lasted me 2 years (believe it or not) and they are still working good! The feel's awesome, the durability is astounding, and it's Vic Firth. Even though this particular set of sticks are expensive, they'll save you money instead of buying 10 pairs of sticks and such. Not to mention, this is great for Heavy Metal, and it looks slick.

      Too soon to tell

      By Richard

      from California, KY

Comments about Vic Firth Titan Carbon Fiber Drumsticks:

Obviously peole buy these sticks for durability. So far they are doing great. They feel just a bit heavy but that was easy to get used to. Also felt a bit slippery as others have mentioned but I haven't gone as far as taping them. If the last 6mos. or more I will be happy. Play every other week at church and practice daily 1 hour.

      Ahead? What are those?

      By James

      from Rhode island

Comments about Vic Firth Titan Carbon Fiber Drumsticks:

To anyone who is deciding whether or not to pick a pair of these - let me tell you that they are worth it. I originally used 5b hickory, oak, and Vinnie Colaiuta vic sicks before these, so they took no time to get accustomed to. They are a bit heavy, but because of the hollow inside only feel a tiny bit heavier than a regular 5b. Despite being only a bit heavier, they are, however, much more rough on the hands, especially if you are practicing / playing with them everyday. The solution to this? Stick grips. Pick up a pack of vater or ahead grip tape and you will not need another 5b stick. I'm still using my first pair of these for every practice, studio session, and live show since I bought them 4 1/2 months ago, and I hit pretty hard on stage and rimshot my snare quite often. Pick 2 pairs of these in case you drop one on stage along with some grips and you'll be using these sticks forever.

Doesn't Hold Up To The Hype

      By Jake

      from Minneapolis, Minnesota

Comments about Vic Firth Titan Carbon Fiber Drumsticks:

These sticks look, sound and feel like your average 5B American Classic wood drumsticks except the Titans have a more even tone. That is the ONLY good thing about them! I purchased the Titans because I am a very hard hitter and I was told that I would get a month to 3 months out of them before I needed a new pair. That was not the case. I only got TWO AND A HALF WEEKS out of them before they snapped and I wasn't even playing everyday! $55.00 was WAY to much to pay for a pair of sticks that lasted me the same amount of time a pair of $8.00 wood sticks would. If they're really made out of carbon fiber composite I would expect them to last quite a bit longer. I would not recommend these sticks to anybody simply because it's not worth the price.

      Totally worth the investment

      By Nathan Mitchell

      from Blaine, Minnesota

Comments about Vic Firth Titan Carbon Fiber Drumsticks:

These sticks are awesome!!!!! These do feel like wood sticks and in traditional vic firth fashion, all the sticks are the same in almost every way. I have owned a pair for almost 4 1/2 months now and they have held up tremendously. I would've gone through a pair or two of 5a's (I am a hard hitter). Because they're made of carbon fiber and not aluminum, like ahead drumsticks, they are easier on the cymbals. When you hit a cymbal with wood sticks, you could get a different sound from each stick. With the titans, you get the true sound of the cymbal. Even though they are a bit expensive for a pair of sticks, trust me, it is worth every penny and it will save you money in the long run. Would recommend this to anyone.
