Awesome Pad

By Alec

from Englewood, Colorado

Comments about Vic Firth Single Sided Practice Pad:

I bought this so my drumming while practicing would be more quiet because everyone was mad at me for drumming to loud which was a big problem. So I bought this pad to fix the problem. Now I can't stop using it! it fixed my problem AND it felt just like a drum! I recommend this to just about any person no matter if they're a starter or a pro! I was really happy with my purchase

Excellent

By Matt Joy

from san diego, CA

Comments about Vic Firth Single Sided Practice Pad:

I looked at many pads online and read a lot of reviews and was generally disappointed with the selection of pads in store at GC. They had no 12" single sided pads that could thread on a cymbal stand. I really liked the Vater red gum rubber pad they had in the store, but they only had the 2 sided one. The website seems to not have any vater pads I could find. Here's what I did. I bought a Vic Firth Slim Pad with the Heavy Hitters laminate add on and I bought this single sided rubber practice pad. This pad is slightly firmer than the Vater red gum rubber pad and does not give as many free bounces, but is still a good rebound and warm up pad that is not as hard as the solid black rubber side on black side of the Vater pad, a middle ground between the two if you will. I thread this pad on the stand and use it for warm ups and drills and then I place the Slim Pad with attached Laminate on top of this pad because that one does not have a thread on the back even though it is one sided. So, one stand and two pads I can swap out. The Slim Pad and laminate(musiciansfriend.com) are THE closest to a real field marching snare feel you will find, but GC doesn't carry it. It gives NO freebies and very very articulate, as well as louder than most practice pads. I like having both options between these two and if buying two pads is out of your budget then get the Vic Firth single sided and DIVIDED pad. Half bouncy and half dense rubber and GC does carry that online here. Also, do yourself a favor and use full size rudiment/marching core sticks to build your chops. Most rudiments are easier and better executed with large and heavier sticks.

Great Product !!

By Jim Kretz

from Maumee, OH.

Comments about Vic Firth Single Sided Practice Pad:

I almost ordered a traditional practice pad (tuneable), but then I remembered how noisy they are, and that defeats the purpose of using one sometimes. This one is very quiet and has great bounce. Helped me with my "shimmies" and paradiddles immensely! Get the big one (12') and you can't miss !

Amazing Pad

By pdpdrummer90

from Dallas, Tx

Comments about Vic Firth Single Sided Practice Pad:

I had this single sided pad for a while. It was literally the best thing that happened to my drumming. It's quiet enough so that you can practice in the middle of the night. And since my parents didn't like me drumming too much they loved this pad. Somehow when I got a new drumset, this pad got lost in the transition. I really hope to get a new one of these in the near future. To sum it up, best pad ever get it now.

A really good buy

By alejandro

from nashville

Comments about Vic Firth Single Sided Practice Pad:

A practice pad is essential for any drummer who sometimes can only play late at night. I practice on mine every night, and it still looks brand new. It gives a lot of rebound but that is expected in a practice head. Also while I am practicing it doesnt slide all over the place like other practice pads have in the past. So overall you need to buy this practice pad if you want to improve rudiments. Vic Firth is number one!!!
