I've been using these headphones for about two weeks now and they impress me. They don't go very loud but keep in mind that they don't need to because all ambient noise is cut by 24 decibels. Very good for drumming (ear protection), on stage perfomance, or just listening to your music and removing all that noise you don't want to listen to.

Great Headphones

By Matt McCarthy

from South Bend, IN

Comments about Vic Firth SIH1 Isolation Headphones:

Get them. These headphones are amazing. They cut out all the excess noise, as well as a muffling the good noise. They really help you get in line with a bass player. Their best function is playing with cd's or the radio. You can hear the music perfectly and get your timing down without having to blast out the music. They're great for all practicing situations as well as recording, go for it.

They certainly do their job.

By Doublebassshark

from Austin, TX

Comments about Vic Firth SIH1 Isolation Headphones:

These headphones block most of the noise of your drumset well, and are VERY comfortable. The sound quality is good enough so that I use it on plane trips with my ipod. However, it is hard to hear the bass drums through these. I play on a double bass set, and sometimes when I'm trucking at around 160 bpm, It all just sounds like continuous bass, and it trips me up. All around good headphones though.

THIS HEADPHONES LITTERALLY ROCK!

By LaxGfish14

from Ohio

Comments about Vic Firth SIH1 Isolation Headphones:

The only thing I do when I'm not playing with my band is play to music. And before I got these headphones I was litterally blowing out my ears. I really don't want to be deaf when I'm older so I got the headphones. They block out the sound so well, I practically feel like I'm all alone when I play. But it's enough so you can still hear yourself play.

In your head

By KC

from Orange county, CA

Comments about Vic Firth SIH1 Isolation Headphones:

I get a lot of use out of these. While practicing playing my drums I hook these up to my Boss Dr. Beat metronome and they isolate the metronome from other sounds. It makes it so nice just having that in my head away from other distractions to just jam with my own thoughts. Good buy for every drummer.

perfect headphones for drummers

By eddie thomas

from okc ok

Comments about Vic Firth SIH1 Isolation Headphones:

I got these headphones because i couldn't ever hear the music I was trying to play with. Now when i play the headphones block out the perfect amount of sound. I can hear my i pod perfectly even when it isn't turned all the way up. And they are great for blocking out other noises while studying too...

Saving my ears.

By Kyle

from Fresno, CA

Comments about Vic Firth SIH1 Isolation Headphones:

I am very concerned about my ears. These headphones help ease my concern. I wear glasses and these headphones aren't the best for extended wear, but I would rather live with mild discomfort rather than a lifetime of deafness.

Wonderful Product

By BIGJDRUM

from Allentown, PA

Comments about Vic Firth SIH1 Isolation Headphones:

The Vic Firth SIH1 Isolation Headphones allow me to practice my drumset, marching snare, or hand percussion with my Dr. Beat or MP3 player without damaging my ears. The only downside: The ear pieces sometimes fall apart, but can be easily put back together.

Solid Headphones

By Gretschdrummer

from Bayview, Texas

Comments about Vic Firth SIH1 Isolation Headphones:

These headphones are good for recording. You can hear the right amount of the drumset while still hearing the rest of the music. They are also good for just practicing. I love the way my set sounds with the headphones on. However, they get unconfortable after long periods of use and the quality of sound for just listening to music is not that great. But they do the job that i bought them for.

Awesoome

By Keaton

from Marlton, New Jersey

Comments about Vic Firth SIH1 Isolation Headphones:

I just recently bought these headphones, and I have to say the are quite awesome and of high quality, When I first put them on I was surprised at how comfortable they are, I can easliy go hours with them on my head, they do just what they say, isolate surroundings, when you slip these babys on you wont even be able to hear yourself talk, which is awesome, and the sound quality is very awesome, they are quite loud, and have very nice bass, now this is how you listen to music, they are great for visualizing music, you can hear everything much clearer allowing you to pick out fills or guitar riffs with ease. I havent got a chance to play drums with them yet, but I feel that they will be great and stand up well since they were made of course made for drums and other instruments. also the price is great compaired to other headphones. Get these you really wont regret it trust me.

Jam Along With My Favorite Song and Learn It On the Drums? Why wouldn't I?

By Robbie

from Sussex, NJ

Comments about Vic Firth SIH1 Isolation Headphones:

I was excited as soon as I got these headphones in the mail, I picked them up, pulled out my iPod, connected them and started jamming out to some Dimmu Borgir at my drum kit, almost no ring after words. I could hear the drums pretty well and the music as well. These are perfect for the keyboardist that doesn't want people to hear their material while i's in the making (me). These come with a jack that lets you listen to music coming from an 1/8 jack and a 1/4 allowing you to use it to cancel sound when at the drum kit and allowing you to monitor the sound of the keys, guitar, or bass when playing while letting no one else hear the sound of it (if you wish, you can always let others hear it anyways if you want). I give five stars because these are amazing, however when playing drums don't where just these, I suggest getting a pair of simple foam ear plugs as well or else the cymbals will rip through the cancellation, then just raise the volume.

Drummer

By Kenny

from Plainfield, IN

Comments about Vic Firth SIH1 Isolation Headphones:

We play every weekend and I wanted to do away with lugging around a big monitor, so I invested in this. For live performance I get ok volume(would love to have more), the clarity is good, the mix is good. We have seven instruments and it doesn't pick them all up. I've only had them 3 weeks and the connectors have already gone bad!!!! So don't expect much there!

Drummers rejoice

By James

from Oxford, MA

Comments about Vic Firth SIH1 Isolation Headphones:

These headphones are absolutely perfect for drummers, as they give a great amount of isolation. It leaves some sound intact, but takes away the sting of a snare or cymbal, and the growling of toms. One bad quality about it is the low end sound quality. My iPod ear pieces provide better sound quality, but require me to play them at 100% volume when drumming. With these things, you can keep your hearing and hear those small things you might have been missing during a drum fill.

The Best

By Brendan

from Saskatoon, SK

Comments about Vic Firth SIH1 Isolation Headphones:

These are the best that i have seen so far. All the other headphones that I have used have either been uncomfortable, or they just don't cut out anyy noise. These phones just outpreform everything i have seen. I have owned these for a couple years, and have yet to be disapointed!

A Must For All Drummers

By Jamie Parrish

from Sequim WA

Comments about Vic Firth SIH1 Isolation Headphones:

I purchased these Vic Firth headphones for ear protection while playing my drums and for jamming to music with an i-pod. I am very happy with my purchase. You can still hear your drums without the nasty cymbal tweakage of the ears! An ipod is easily played to. The volume on the ipod does have to be turned up quite high, but it beats other methods I've tried and is pretty decent quality.

Awesome for Practice

By Phil

from Scottsdale, AZ

Comments about Vic Firth SIH1 Isolation Headphones:

These headphones work great for mixing the sound with when you mic the drums through a mixer and add music. You don't hear the acoustic sounds of the drums if mic'd and can adjust drums vs music to your liking. Great for practicing. I mic the kick and one overhead through a PA head separately and use a CD player or iPod for the music through the PA head as well. You are in control of the mix and these headphones have the best isolation. Have tried other headphones, Bose AKG, etc but these work the best.

This sucks

By Vernon

from Norwalk, CA

Comments about Vic Firth SIH1 Isolation Headphones:

I got these headphones for monitoring and for my zune, they pinch your head and after awhile you feel like there is no blood circulation in your head, then you will feel dizzy, they are not comfy and the sound is not that great.
