The quality of the Heavy Hitter pads are absolutely unmatched. This Quadropad truly gets the proportions and feel of a tenor drum just right. The spacing of all of the pads is perfect to help you learn sweeps acuratly without hitting the wood. I also strongly recommend if you buy this and want to play tenors, you should look at the Scott Johnson/Sean Vega tenor sticks.

So after close to 4 months for waiting for my pad to get here.. I am slightly disappointed.. mainly because it feels like I'm playing on a table.. I have the laminates on it and they pads are.. hard.. not rubber like a snare pad or anything.. so it really takes the feel out of playing an actual drum..

Good product. Its like any other drum pad and the Spock drums are optional to add on so you can have quads, quince, or tenors. They are a bit heavely but that's no problem it has a real feel to it

        Deceptive Advertising

        Comments about Vic Firth Quadropad:

I bought the small pad, thinking it was fit for 10" #1 Drum Tenors, but It was actually fit for 8" #1 Drum Tenors. The description and specifications are far too brief for the price and shipping time of this product. The pictures and description make it out to be that the small pad has one spock and the large has two; however this is not the case. Now I have to send mine back to get the Large....

Its like playing on magic instead of a practce pad

        By quadzilla734

        from Shreveport, Louisiana

        Comments about Vic Firth Quadropad:

This pad is incredible. The gum rubber is just hard enough to seriously improve your chops, while being just soft enough to have fun freestyling and whatnot. There are many problems other pads have, and this one has none of those problems. The only real downside is that if you play too hard with extra-heavy hard mallets, the laminates can get little dents in them occasionally. But those are replaceable. Also, if you're low on cash, this is also great for having four snare players practice at once, so you don't have to buy all those snare pads just to have a better drumline. Sounds desperate, but it works for us, so it should work for you just the same. Anyway, this pad is great for any tenor player who wants to practice on a basically flawless practice pad.

        greatness pad

        Comments about Vic Firth Quadropad:

After playing each marching percussion instrament and using each kind of heavy hitter pad by bill bachman, I can honestly say that the quadropad is a work of art. True to the playing zones. And with the laminates, your chops get WORKED. Totally worth perchasing.

The quadropad is great. It is definately worth getting. Ive had the large quadropad for almost a year now and it is still holding up great. The response is excellent. I would recommend this product to anyone.
