I was kinda hesitant when i first picked these up because it was unlike any stick in the Vic Firth line up. I went to a practice pad and figured out that theses sticks were incredible! The taper was great in my hands and the sticks had so much clarity! The stick allows you to play very clear in quiet situations and doesnt have too much weight that you cant control double strokes or other rudiments. Great sticks for any situation!

I will start off by saying I love the Buddy Rich sticks. I have used the wood tips BR series sticks for a couple years now and they are great. The feel is great and they look awesome with the white finish. With the nylon tips I got great tone on the bell of my ride. The only thing that I noticed was that they broke different then the other Buddy Rich sticks I have used in the past. These sticks would break at the tip just below the Nylon tip and then start cracking back towards the butt of the stick. And honestly it didn't take much to break them or get that crack to start. I will be the first one to admit that I hit REALLY hard and I tend to g through most sticks like they are chop sticks. These ones just broke a little to easy for me. I think Ill stick with wooden tips.

Comments about Vic Firth Buddy Rich Signature Drumsticks:

Good stick! The white finish stays on much better than black finished sticks. If you're used to a standard 5A stick, this one is a little bit heavier.

Comments about Vic Firth Buddy Rich Signature Drumsticks:

With so many reviews one more either seems unnecessary or irrelevant. Maybe both. The problem is: some people just can't shut up! So here it goes: Very, very good sticks and somewhat unusual. (Some people feel Buddy might have been an alien and these sticks have distinctly "alien" qualities.) Unique in color, (baby drum corps white,) unique in taper and unique in diameter, these sticks are truly remarkable. You need to get these in your hands to fully comprehend the cumulative effect. Great leverage, great rebound, great balance, great reach. If you can't try them out locally they are still well worth buying sight unseen and taking a chance. You won't be sorry.

        Buddy's Sticks?

        By black dragon

Comments about Vic Firth Buddy Rich Signature Drumsticks:

For certain: Buddy had a long career and probably used a lot of different sticks. Whether or not he actually used these particular sticks..............? Anyway, I'm sure he got a nice check for his endorsement. Regardless, these are great sticks. I was using Dave Weckl Evolutions prior, thought they were great but maybe a little light. Gave the nylon tip version a try and haven't looked back. I play a maple fusion kit and these boys definitely allowed my to take my output up a notch without sacrificing control/balance/fine expression in any way. Great leverage and balance once you get used to the diameter. (The white paint is a bit different but not a put off to me. Kind of a "baby drum corps " look, I guess.) The only down side is I still can't play like Buddy Rich! Of course, I couldn't actually play like Dave Weckl when I was using his sticks either. (Go figure.)

Comments about Vic Firth Buddy Rich Signature Drumsticks:

I bought two pairs of these to try out a month ago and the first pair has just started to splinter in the area where you hit rim shots. I consider myself to be a pretty heavy hitter and I play in many different styles. These sticks offered a lot of versatility as far as what they can do. I can play with a matched or traditional grip with ease.

Comments about Vic Firth Buddy Rich Signature Drumsticks:

I wanted to try these sticks since I am a fan of the 5ab combo sticks and these were recommended. I like the size and feel of the sticks but I broke my first one not 15 minutes into my first practice with them. I'm not that heavy handed that a good stick would break that quickly. I have another Vic Firth 5ab combo that I've played for months and I haven't broken them. So, overall, average at best and not the kind of stick I'll use gigging.

Comments about Vic Firth Buddy Rich Signature Drumsticks:

Great stick long and light allowing great rebound, the length allows for a strong rebound note maintaining consistent sounding notes in double strokes. The tip is unusually resilient tips stay in tact for longer than average wood sticks. Can be a challenge at times to play quiet ballads due to the thick tip not a fast stick although due to the length the stick will foster a more relaxed approach even when the tip starts to ware it provides a great quiet attack on the ride.

Love these sticks, and who isn't a fan of buddy rich? I play heavy metal mostly and I think these are great. Sure the tips are not the best for a big huge drum/cymbol impact, but they allow for so much control, especially with 4 stroke rolls/triplets and paradidles. Just a pleasure to play, the balance feels really cool. The semi gloss finish is sweet. Do not be afraid to buy a pair!
