Quick and Vesatile

These are probably the lightest drumsticks i have played with, allowing you to play incredibly fast. The only problem i have with them is how fast the paint and sticks chip.

I bought these sticks because i needed a new pair. The 7A's I'd had before were working fine for me until the tips splintered and the sticks started to crack. Those sticks lasted about a year. I found out the hard way that these sticks splintered and cracked much faster than the others. I bought them in an outlet store, so i did actually see them and get the feel. it seemed like a legit purchase until about a week later. i bought two pairs, and both did the same thing. actually, a couple days ago i was half way through the first song at a basketball game playing pep band, and one of my sticks split. so i was left hanging with half a good pair of sticks and the rest of the song to go. so if you play drums that require any volume at all or if you use cymbals (it was my hi-hat hand stick that broke), i wouldn't suggest these particular sticks. thank you. good day.

Awesome!!!

Comments about Vic Firth American Classic Drumsticks with Black Finish:

These sticks are probably the best sticks i ever owned. They are very light and it takes forever for them to start to chip and crack. I have the 5B's and the 5A's and I like the 5B's better because the weight advantage( 5B's feel like 5A's).

Not so good...

By Edgar Guerrero

from Undisclosed

Comments about Vic Firth American Classic Drumsticks with Black Finish:

I bought 4 pairs of these sticks and I really regret. The tip of these sticks breaks too easily. I used a brand new pair to play just six songs and when I finished the tips of both sticks were totally flat instead of being rounded. Usually a pair of sticks lasts me for months, but these ones don't even last a single session.

American Classic 5B

By Max Tansky

from FL

Comments about Vic Firth American Classic Drumsticks with Black Finish:

These sticks are great, durable but the black finish chips easily making it ugly. My major concern with the sticks were that they were very slippery. As soon as you get sweat on your palms they have the tendancy of flying out of your hands completely. Other than that they're light enough, and loud.
These sticks have a very good quality overall, the black finish does chip very easily though.

OK

Comments about Vic Firth American Classic Drumsticks with Black Finish:

Black finish comes off after a short time of playing. I use a brand new pair for each gig and then use the old ones for practice. wood tips break after a few months.

Look Great, but not worth the money.

By Christopher

from Phoenix, Arizona

Comments about Vic Firth American Classic Drumsticks with Black Finish:

I bought a pair of these sticks in size 5A. They looked great and sounded great, but before long the paint started to chip away, and on day two of having the sticks, they broke. I am somewhat of a hard-hitting drummer, but on average, a pair of Vic Firth 5A's last me at least a couple months. Only buy these sticks if you are using an electronic kit and/or do not play hard.

Good Pair

By Vater515

from Des Moines IA

Comments about Vic Firth American Classic Drumsticks with Black Finish:

Well these sticks are a good looking pair of sticks right out of the box the black finish really adds a nice sleek look to the stick. But once i started to use the stick on my kit the paint job started to chip and fade off making the stick look really trashy. Now being that its made by Vic Firth its been holding up except for a few chips here and there but thats normal. I say get the stick if you dont mind a trashy look to them.

Decent

By tamastar

from georgia

Comments about Vic Firth American Classic Drumsticks with Black Finish:

these sticks are okay..... its just that the black coating on them wares off easy and makes the stick look kind of bad and then leaves all the remains falling and getting on and between your heads. but other than that, they are light and good sticks.
