Vic Firth Headphones Are Great!
I bought the Vic Firth Isolation Headphones about 2 weeks ago, and have been really pleased with them. They cut out the noise from my drums while I practice to songs for gigs off my iPod, or I can simply practice with my band using them as ear protection, alot more comfortable than earbuds that's for sure. Perfect not only for drummers, but any other musician.

Great Headphones
Get them. These headphones are amazing. They cut out all the excess noise, as well as a muffling the good noise. They really help you get in line with a bass player. Their best function is playing with cd's or the radio. You can hear the music perfectly and get your timing down without having to blast out the music. They're great for all practicing situations as well as recording, go for it.

They certainly do their job.
These headphones block most of the noise of your drumset well, and are VERY comfortable. The sound quality is good enough so that I use it on plane trips with my ipod. However, it is hard to hear the bass drums through these. I play on a double bass set, and sometimes when I'm trucking at around 160 bpm, It all just sounds like continuous bass, and it trips me up. All around good headphones though.

THIS HEADPHONES LITTERALLY ROCK!
The only thing I do when I'm not playing with my band is play to music. And before I got these headphones I was litterally blowing out my ears. I really don't want to be deaf when I'm older so I got the headphones. They block out the sound so well, I practically feel like I'm all alone when I play. But it's enough so you can still hear yourself play.

In your head
I get a lot of use out of these. While practicing playing my drums I hook these up to my Boss Dr. Beat metronome and they isolate the metronome from other sounds. It makes it so nice just having that in my head away from other distractions to just jam with my own thoughts. Good buy for every drummer.

Wonderful Product
The Vic Firth SIH1 Isolation Headphones allow me to practice my drumset, marching snare, or hand percussion with my Dr. Beat or MP3 player without damaging my ears. The only downside: The ear pieces sometimes fall apart, but can be easily put back together.

Very Good
I've been using these headphones for about two weeks now and they impress me. They don't go very loud but keep in mind that they don't need to because all ambient noise is cut by 24 decibels. Very good for drumming (ear protection), on stage perfomance, or just listening to your music and removing all that noise you don't want to listen to.

Awesome for Practice
These headphones work great for mixing the sound with when you mic the drums through a mixer and add music. You don't hear the acoustic sounds of the drums if mic'd and can adjust drums vs music to your liking. Great for practicing. I mic the kick and one overhead through a PA head separately and use a CD player or iPod for the music through the PA head as well. You are in control of the mix and these headphones have the best isolation. Have tried other headphones, Bose AKG, etc but these work the best.

great and reliable
I bought the Vic Firth headset about 6 years ago, and they worked perfectly in many applications from tracking in the studio to practicing with a click or ipod. I use them daily since I practice through a studio board. My band even got a pair for when we did headset practices and recording, they really allow you to get a good mix without the natural drum sound interfering, but just enough drum sound if you are playing along to your favorite group or click. I will be buying a new pair this weekend since the wire seems to have finally brokedown, when I move my head the sound sometimes cancells out, but the price 6 yrs later, they are worth it!!!!

It does the job.
I've owned the Vic Firth SlH1 Isolation Headphones for about a week and they do what I expected. Initially, these headphones felt constricting but after wearing it for awhile it fit rather comfortably. The sound quality is decent and for some reason the headphones don't indicate left/right ear side. Overall I'm happy with my purchase and I would recommend this product for all drummers.
