Vic Firth American Classic Hickory 5A Sticks, Buy 3 Get 1 Pair 55A Free (106218001)
Availability:

Great all-around sticks for a variety of playing styles.

This pack includes three pairs of 5A drumsticks and one pair of 55A drumsticks.

Vic Firth's 5A has a teardrop tip for rich cymbal sounds. Light and fast for jazz, orchestral, and pit work.

The 55A is slightly fatter than a 5A, yet thinner than a 5B.

The American Classic line combines tradition and Vic Firth style. Classics are turned from select hickory—a dense wood with little flex for a more pronounced sound. Hickory is also capable of withstanding a great deal of shock, making it highly durable. The wood tips are deeply back-cut for intensified cymbal response.

  • Amazing

As reviewed by Kyle on 7/21/2011

This was my first pair of drumsticks and i loved them and still do! It's all i will use, they are good for any style, pretty durable, great grip, and they're fun to use, i have all of my cymbals slightly tilted to i dont break anything and i've had the 5a's last months! i am also a somewhat heavy hitter. Great pair of sticks, i think they are worth what you pay

  • Great Sticks, NOT durable.

As reviewed by Brent on 4/6/2010

I have been using these sticks for close to 6 months now, and I cannot use any others. They feel great to play with, however they break EXTREMELY easily. (that could be due to my play style though) Overall I recommend these sticks more than any others, Pick some up and you will not be disappointed.

I've been told time and time again how good the quality of Vic Firth drum sticks is. I entered guitar center yesterday around 5PM, the same time I'm writing this review, making it around 24 hours I've owned these sticks. After playing about 20 songs in total in that time, one of the sticks has broken in half. At first the sticks were amazing! Their sound quality was superb, the wood was a medium-light weight, and the perfect length. Each stick moved in my hand in a fluid motion, and the wooden tips were produced better sounds than previous plastic tipped drumsticks. Now, believe me, I am NOT a hard hitter, and about 5 inches of the stick snapped when I hit the snare. The tip flew at me and hit me in the neck. Don't buy these expecting them to last.
