Great Quality Sticks
There's nothing I hate more than finding a great deal on some sticks, buying them, and then finding out the quality is not what I'd anticipated. I've never had this problem with these Vic Firth sticks. They're nothing but quality, and at this price, they're a great deal. I never use anything else.

Great Sticks
I have always been a fan of Vic Firth, and these are absolute classic hickory. I use Hickory drum sticks all the time. I like 5b and 2b sticks. The Vic Firth 5b is very solid, heavy, and long lasting. I recommend these to any drummer.

Best I've seen
I have always used Vater hickory wood tip 5a and 5b drumsticks, but just recently a friend of mine recommended I pick up a pair of Vic Firth to see for myself. Now, when I look for sticks I like to find sticks with good balance, but most importantly I want my sticks to LAST. These sticks did just that. They hold up and are neither too heavy, nor too light. Overall, just a great pair of sticks.

WELL BALANCED!
These sticks are always perfectly balanced, and of the highest quality. Don't play with bad sticks, that is like painting with a bad brush. You will never be let down with Vic Firth, they are #1!

Great deal on great sticks
I had always used promark hickory and oak until one day I found a great deal on Vic Firth American Hickory 5A's at Guitar Center. I bought several pair thinking I'd go through a few to evaluate. Well, four weeks later I'm still drumming with the first pair. For my kind of playing (fusion, funk) I don't break many sticks, but four weeks is a good life for any drum beater. So I guess they're pretty durable, plus at these prices for a 6-pack it's an awesome deal.
Unlike the Promark hickorys whose varnish seems to wear off quickly leaving the sticks rough (though the PM Oaks don't seem to have this problem) the VF finish is durable and lasts at least as long as the stick. I find them much more comfortable to hold for the long haul.
The only real downside is that they don't have the PM ring stripe. I know it seems silly, but after so long with the Promarks I had become accustomed to seeing the stripe and using it as a landmark somehow. The VFs seem a little naked that way.
I think I still might like the Promark Oaks a little better (they don't splinter as easily) but for the money the VF is the best stick you can get.
