Preserving the concept of the VCI-300+ITCH, the VCI-300MKII comes with usability improvements based on feedback from VCI-300 customers. Vestax considered every comment they received, and the result is a DJ console created for the modern mix-masters and party starters. Some of the changes you'll find in the MKII include
The VCI-300MKII can control more than 90 parameters and functions of the included Serato software with high-resolution MIDI signals sent via USB. The pulse resolution of the jog wheel and pitch control fader is 4 times higher than the VCI-100 and provides precise control of each function. The pitch control fader also shares the same high quality fader parts of the input fader for advanced operability.
Super Audio Characteristic
The built-in audio interface carries an Audio Codec IC with superb audio characteristic, generated by a delta-sigma modulation 24-bit stereo D/A-A/D converter. Audio connections include 1 stereo input, 1 MIC input, and 2 stereo outputs (Master L/R, Monitor L/R).
A 12-level LED L/R indicator is set in the center of the top panel to monitor sound levels.
Thanks to Serato ITCH's easy-to-understand interface, audio files in the software library can be easily selected and controlled with the CRATES / FILES / BROWSE key and the cursor switch inherited from the VCM-100.
Emergency Thru Switch
The Emergency Thru Switch located on the rear panel is a countermeasure where you can use the VCI-300MKII with the provided ITCH software or without the computer connected if you simply want to play music from your external CD or MP3 player. The ITCH software reads music from your iTunes library or the Serato library you use for Scratch LIVE, making it an ideal solution for recreational or professional DJ's.
Adjustable Jog Wheel Torque
The torque of each jog wheel can be adjusted to prevent them from moving from low-frequency feedback and altering the pitch when using the VCI-300 in a club.
Fader Curve Control
The fader curve of each fader can be adjusted to the preferred characteristics for long mixes, scratching, and any other style.

I switched from Pioneer CDJ 800's to this console, works about the same but the jog wheel is not as big,Compact, but has nice weight to it, the Jog wheels can be adjusted to be loose or tight according to your pref. works well with Serrato DJ.
I started out on the VCI 300 MKII and really helped me gain dj experience to become a professional DJ. You can really use the VCI 300 if your playing in a Club or Wedding. It also will have the availability to have the bridge to connect with Ableton. The new sample decs are great and allow versatility. If your new to djing or experienced vci will be a great tool.
If you are thinking about getting a midi this would be a good one to buy. I have not had any big problems the main thing is that sinceativity knob. Sometimes I would be mixing and the jog wheel will turn red that is annoying. If you want to learn or are trying to learn how to scratch this is not for you stick to turntables or CDJ's. If you are just starting out don't buy this. I don't know how to explain it but CDJ's and midi's are 2 different worlds. If I could do it over again I would have not bought this. However, if you like midi's get it. It is small and easy to set up.
Great buy. I've had this product for about a year. I usually rock with the 1200s but ever since I purchased this, I fell in love with the fact that I can slide it in my backpack along with my laptop. Great features: Loops, 3 cue pts (wish it had a few more), key lock, auto-tempo, fader controls, file controls...I can go on and on. It's durable and has some weight to it. For me, that's a good thing. Let's me know that it's built tough. There was a review on here about how one of the turntables were stiffer than the other one. If he actually read the manual, read the description on here, or even observed the VCI-300 itself, he would've saw that there is an adjustable torque for each turntable. It was probably on too tight on one side. So you ask why not 5 stars? Because the headphones' output isn't as loud as I would like it. If you're spinning at a club, you'll have to press hard on your phones to your ear. I love it overall. Definitely worth the money.
i have returned two vci300 units upon opening up the box because the jogwheels have not been properly greased. what does this mean? on both of the units that I purchased (and have now returned), for some odd reason, one jog wheel does not move AT ALL. It is completely stuck whereas the other one spins non-stop. There is absolutely no way to adjust this, which Vestax support and other users have said to be a common problem with a sizeable amount of their units. I hear it is a simple issue to fix, which involves opening up the unit itself and applying some WD40. Problem with this is that you completely void your warranty. And their customer support is absolutely terrible if you try to send it in, which I have read from dozens of people takes up to two months. C'mon Vestax, this is a really simple construction flaw. Just put the right amount of grease per jogwheel! Do not purchase this unit. With all electronics, you get what you pay for. I already own turntables and such and thought this would be good to just take to small events or weddings. Spend the extra $200-300 dollars and go for the Pioneer or Numark controllers, which I will be doing.
OK I just got this product yesterday and it has it's ups and downs. First off I like the fact that it's a midi and i don't have to worry about always setting up my 2 CDJ's and mixer I can switch up sometimes. Serato had a great idea to create Itch. The down side is that sometimes I will play a song and then the music just stops. Now Vestax lets talk about this midi as a whole great features the only thing is that sometimes I can scratch and sometimes I can't. The bottom line is this I like my Pioneer CDJ's than I do a midi. So, when you want to buy a midi get this one because even though it has flaws it gets the job done and it's the best in it's class. Shot out to the Guitar Center in Atlanta GA.
