Love my vinyl but decided to try a midi controller. I looked at all the midi controllers out there, this one was a real piece of pro level hardware. The vci is a cut above every other controller in its price range.
It has an aluminimum case, hefty weight for its size keeps it from moving while playing. The faders and buttons and rotories are the same quality as the highend vestax mixers.
If you are intrested in controllerism this is the ticket. I got the one with TRAKTOR and am impressed with the versatility of midi controllers, and software.
Don't think about just get one. Once you go midi you'll never go back, it has opened up to just this side of live remixing.
the vestax vci controller took the world by storm when it came out and for good reason. its everything any dj needs in one easy-to-use, durable, and sleek package. despite the massive strides vestax took with the vci-100 there are also many problems; the major ones being the jog wheels. With so many little parts in each wheel, there are many things that can possibly go wrong, and in some cases, much does go wrong. I've had problems with the connectivity, electronic receivers, hardware, and basic use of these jog wheels and its cost me upwards of $200 to have them fixed (hopefully for a long time, but that still is being fairly optimistic) besides the problems with the jog wheels its a fine piece of equipment.
