VenueMagic Classic Show Control Software brings form and function to the Audio and DMX lighting world, making this the stepping-stone to the DMX Revolution. DMX is not just for lighting anymore, VenueMagic has combined timeline editing, Audio mixing and editing, and sophisticated DMX Lighting control into one complete, easy-to-use package. They also added in playlists, programmable sliders, MIDI control input, as well as many other additional features. This version also includes a USB to DMX interface to control up to 512 DMX channels right out of the box.
Put simply, VenueMagic is software that plays audio files and controls lights (and other objects) through a DMX interface. However, VenueMagic is much more than that. VenueMagic includes a built-in library of sounds and lighting effects that help you put your show together in no time. You can also load your own WAV, MP3 or Windows Media sound files to customize your performance. For example, you can have intense sounds of rain and thunder enhanced by perfectly timed flashes of light, to simulate a truly powerful storm.
You build your VenueMagic show by dragging sounds and lighting effects onto a timeline and lining them up where you want them. Then you can add sound effects such as echo, reverb, chorus, etc. You can choose from the built-in lamp effects such as lightning, candles, fireworks, chaser sequences and more, or you can create your own.

Comments about Venue Magic Classic Version w/ Control Box:
Fellow musicians, theaters, churches, school theatrical departments, etc., this is a very powerful tool. The reason I got Venue Magic was for my band's light show. What totally separates this dmx control software from anything else out there is the addition of the timeline feature. I must admit, there was a couple of days of learning on my end because it is the first time I used a computer based dmx program instead of our Elation DMX Operator. What I'm doing with mine is creating click tracks for the songs we perform in our live shows, importing them as an audio file onto Venue Magic's audio track which is on a timeline. Then I can drag, drop, trim, whatever RGB Par cans, moving head lights, dimmer packs, etc into "lamp tracks" and make them match up with the beat of the song. This allows you to design specific lights for every song you have. Want your lights to pulse with the kick drum at the intro of a song then strobe then go to colors that change during a verse of a song then something totally different during the chorus, then have your moving head spots hit your lead guitarist for his solo? Total control. Another thing you can do with the audio timeline is add sound effects, harmonies, additional instrument tracks, etc. If you want to seperate the click from the other audio, just pan them left and right when you record them, then send the left side (the click track's audio) to your drummer or whoever wants the click and the right side audio (backgrounds, sound effects, etc.) to the right side and send that to your FOH mixer, monitor mixer or both. For schools putting on plays, musicals, etc, you can import all your audio tracks and design a great light show to follow the scenes of the plays. Of course you can also set up "Cue" buttons to do whatever scenes you want as well. While I'm getting all our songs programmed, I set up 3-4 fast and slow song generic scenes that will just follow a "tap" button. All of this can also be controlled by midi. All in all I'm 100% happy with the Venue Magic Classic that I got and it lived up to it's description!
