I recently purchased this 4-pack of Vater Hickory drumsticks because the cheaper sticks I had been using were splintering or warping. These Vater sticks have a nice, solid weight and feel, and are well-balanced. The nylon tips are a little larger than I'm used to, but after using them, I like the size. I play Roland electronic drums, and the Vater sticks respond nicely on the mesh drum heads and rubber cymbals. I gave them only 4 stars because the stick are a little rough where they taper down to the tip, which makes me worry that they will eventually splinter there. Time will tell.
I have an electric kit and the sticks that came with the kit mark the heads while the Vaters dont. The sticks are straight and the feel nice in my hands.
I have been playing drums for 9 years now, and these sticks are probably the best sticks out there. The sticks have a nice wight to them which makes them easy to roll with and are very well balanced. If you are looking for a good pair of sticks these are the ones to go with. Its a great deal> Definitely worth the money, you get what you pay for!
I bought these sticks because they are cheap and they sound great. but these sticks have a few problems. they are a little to heavy and they are way thiker than they are suposed to be. but they will never break.if you play with 5a's order these in 7a's or it will screw up your playing.
When I started I was using any kind of sticks. But one day I used a pair of the Wood tip 5A Vater sticks and it was amazing!!!!!! I Bought like 8 pair and it took me over a year for them to die [most of 'em never really broke], so if you're looking for the perfect stick don't use VicFirth Zildjian or any of them use VATER!!!!!!!!!!!!
These are the best sticks you can get. Solid, and long lasting. They will chip away to almost nothing before they give out. Other sticks just snap , and crack, with barely any sign of wear. I have tried so many different sticks, but none hold up like these. I can honestly say that i do not know why any one would buy another brand.
I used to use a variety of sticks, eventually i stuck to zildjians but i always thought they felt too light and broke too easily. I finally decided to try out a new brand after breaking a four back in a 3 days. When i fist tried these out, they felt amazing. Ive bought 4 pairs of 5b's and 3 months later, i am yet to break one. These are great sticks and i would recommend them to any drummer.
I use to get Vic Firth and Promarks but when I tried these sticks there the best sticks ive ever used no other brand has reached like Vater has and the best thing is the sticks last for a very long time. I recommend these sticks for drummers that play hard
These sticks are the best I own. They are nice and heavy but not too heavy. They have a great balance point on them. They are slightly slippery but not that much. I would suggest them to someone just starting out or someone who has been playing for their whole life. Definitely buy these.
I love these sticks! they are extremely tough. I have two pairs that i cycle through and that i have had for about two or three months. One stick cracked about a month ago down the side but i ripped it down the side and i still have it. These sticks are great and the price is also a bonus.
