Overview

Vater DSK Drumsticks have a lengthy, yet comfortable design that features a very fast beefy taper for some added weight up top. This allows for a powerful "throw" and solid impact that's perfect for an aggressive drumming style. The DSK's large and rounded barrel-shaped nylon tip is great for crispy clean hi-hat and ride cymbal tones. Hickory.

Excellent but not for everyone.

Comments about Vater DSK Drumsticks:

i have been using vater dsk sticks for the last 7 or 8 years from back in the days when david silveria was the drummer for koRn. it took me a little getting used to because they are heavier than the traditional 5Bs . i have tried to replace them with several different lighter models but end up going back to these. the taper is just right. with a medium/short taper. it has a big rounded nylon barrel tip. these dont come in a wood tip but i am strictly a nylop tip person. these are also probably the longest regular drumsticks you will find at 17". this adds to the aesthetic quality of the sticks while playing esp if you do stick twirls and tricks. they are very sturdy and last a long time. they dont break off as easily as most other good sticks. i am a big guy and find the wider heavier stick more comfortable so try em out if you can before you buy them. if you like em youll love em. if you have small skinny hands you might not be comfortable with these. personally though they are my weapon of choice. they have good bounce and the round nylon tips sound crisp on the cymbals and toms.

      Comments about Vater DSK Drumsticks:

The DSK is a great stick at first by the third or fourth time playing, you will have to move on to a new pair because they break way to fast. The all tend to break in the center of the body or toward the butt of the stick. Seeing how David Silveria played this stick, you would think they would hold up for a long time. I have played Vater before (5BN) and they would never break that fast. I would suggest moving on to another stick or buying it somewhere else. Over all, they are not good wood.
