DOWN: 4 stars because they're so lightweight they only produces a very soft attack with "normal" playing. They're too round to sub for "fanned" brushes, even with the grommets slid down, and won't get "scratchy". Specialized item here. UP: I own several Vater items, including these; all are high quality. Little Monster's are very comfortable with any grip, and I use them in practice, incorporating a "brushes to rods to sticks" routine, and overall I am very happy I bought them. Bonus is that you get a thick, consistent "rimshot" with LM's, and that stroke get's them much louder! I recommend them, except $19.29 (GC!), and $32.49? (Vic?!) For that price, be sure, but I love them for what they are.
Light, easy on the hands, and sound good. I bought these brushes because i was looking for something differnt from the typical uncomfortable steel brushes. These sound just as good and are easier on the hands and wrists. They have held up to my drumming style thus far so i would say that they were built for durability and a long life.
