Vater chose hickory for these 5A drumsticks. Hickory is the most popular wood used for making drumsticks. It's denser, heavier and more rigid than maple and can absorb a great amount of shock, reducing hand and wrist fatigue.

I started off using Zildjian sticks, I did not like them because they didn't feel solid to me. They felt lightweight and "hollow" on the inside. These sticks were like a breath of fresh air. They have a great weight, they are very durable, and really bring out the tone and sound in your drums and cymbals. Buy Them! You won't be disappointed.
I used to use a variety of sticks, eventually i stuck to zildjians but i always thought they felt too light and broke too easily. I finally decided to try out a new brand after breaking a four back in a 3 days. When i fist tried these out, they felt amazing. Ive bought 4 pairs of 5b's and 3 months later, i am yet to break one. These are great sticks and i would recommend them to any drummer.
I use to get Vic Firth and Promarks but when I tried these sticks there the best sticks ive ever used no other brand has reached like Vater has and the best thing is the sticks last for a very long time. I recommend these sticks for drummers that play hard
