These nylon-tipped Vater 5A hickory drumsticks are very responsive, comfortable, and balanced.

Hickory is the most popular wood used for making drumsticks because it is denser, heavier and more rigid than maple. Hickory can also absorb a great amount of shock, which reduces hand and wrist fatigue.

These sticks are made of dark, or "brown" hickory that's found closer to the tree's center and is slightly denser and heavier than "white" hickory.

    I have got to say, these sticks are the bomdigity! I've been using these sticks for about...ehh...4 months now; same pair. And wow are these sticks just terrific. Hands down, best pair I've ever used...ever. I highly suggest you buy these pair. If you don't buy them, then i forgive you.

  • Highly versatile Stick!!!

    Both the nylon and wood tip Vater 5A's are great sticks! The durability is consistent from pair to pair and for me, I'm able to play softly, loudly and in between with these sticks as well as cross over from from funk to rock with ease. Plus, you really can't beat the 4 pack deal!! After a year of playing different brands and sizes, I'm finally going to stay with Vater 5A's, it has turned out to be the perfect stick for me...

  • Very Good & Durable Sticks

    Takes a while to settle into the brand/type of sticks your're most comfortable with playing, and after trying the propular go-tos (Pro-Mark, Vic Firth, etc) I have more or less stuck with the Vater 5B. I have rather big hands and heavy ones at that - the other brands I mentioned are very worthy in their own right but the Vater is the stick for me - great value also, after getting the first 4-pack I was sold.
