The True Blood V-80 headphones from V-MODA are the true essence of expert craftsmanship. Inspired by the characters of the HBO series True Blood, these headphones were meticulously crafted for years alongside legendary musicians, producers and DJs. The V-80 exposes the fine details of sound and turns music into a new dimension. An ultra-compact design built with durable metal materials and star-worthy glamour end the hunt for the perfect headphone. V-80 is truly bespoke for beings whose style and sophistication has evolved through the ages.
Supernatural Sound, Super-Sleek Size
V-80 was engineered to expose the finer details and range of your favorite recordings while making you feel like you are experiencing it live. Like vampire blood, using a V-80 bonds you with these authentic legendary artists whose lives begin at night on stage and in the studio.
At the heart of the V-80 is its patent-pending and biggest-in-class 40mm Dual-Diaphragm High-Fidelity Drivers that deliver multi-driver sound with the efficiency of a single driver. This technology allows the V-80 to deliver the response and range of multiple drivers with the energy efficiency of a single, smaller driver. The result is pulsing bass, a meaty mid-range, and crystal clarity on today's portable devices.
To create this live experience, a unique combination of noise isolation and acoustic channeling technologies was used to add multi-dimensional layers to the listening environment. Supple BLISS memory foam ear cushions isolate noise and immerse you into your own world of sound. The specially tuned V-PORT and memory cushions create a true 3D sound stage versus fully closed-back headphones by directing air out of the ports to maintain noise isolation. It's this magic that is the perfect balance of isolation, staging and ergonomics that makes V-80 the essential companion for modern digital media on smartphones, notebooks and tablets.
Reflecting the seductive style of True Blood comes naturally to the V-80. V-MODA fanatics will immediately recognize the signature metal "V"design, in addition to the added details such as the blood vial zipper pull and luxurious red accents. The on-ear design is 53% smaller than the over-ear Crossfade LP.
V-MODA continues the commitment to timeless materials that the immortals cherish, from the brushed aircraft-grade aluminum shields, to the rich and durable microfiber suede headband, to the braided Kevlar cables.
4 years of testing the V-80 on tour and in every day life situations resulted in a tank-like steel frame, ergonomic steel flex headband, and detachable Kevlar-reinforced cables to ensure unprecedented durability. And like an immortal, the V-80 can repair itself. It features a flexible memory steel headband and detachable cables, memory foam cushions and shields. The V-80's modular engineering means it'll survive whatever the night throws at it.
The Fit is The Sound
Relentless research over the course of 4 years in ergonomics was spent to perfect one of the most challenging acoustic devices, the on-ear or œsupra-aural" headphone. To make supernatural sound required supernatural ergonomics, as the fit can alter the sound up to 50dB with on-ear headphones. Additionally, most on-ear headphones are so uncomfortable they can only be worn for a few minutes, which is unsuitable for watching your favorite shows or jamming to your favorite mix in our modern mobile lifestyle.
The V-80's tailored fit is balanced enough to create a natural sound with a proper on-ear seal, and ensures there's never too much pressure on any part of the head at any time.
True Hz -The Great Revelation
When it comes to the frequency response curve, the traditional old-school specifications people judge headphones by, such as 5Hz-30kHz does not paint a full picture. It' akin to only considering a statue by its height versus its finer details in the sculpted curves and artistic expression. V-MODA sculpts the sound at every step along the entire frequency response range by utilizing a 31-band EQ, lab and subjective testing during the tuning stages.

I love them, I love them NOT, let me count the ways. My Sennheiser HD 203 that I used for standard listening were met with a good tug of the cable, thus ending their well lived/used life. I also have a Beyerdynamic DT 770 that I do enjoy, however for straight listening and non-recording experience, they lack that certain playfulness that would appreciate from a set. I happened to have heard of V-moda before through various channels and more recently when I was considering buying a MIDI Fighter and was browsing said products website. I knew the company (V-Moda) was still pretty new and still getting it's foothold in the headphone market, but I needed a new pair badly. I use headsets religiously and quite literally any time I listen to music; my 2nd floor apartment insures that I an unable to ever use my subwoofer with my 10 speakers to full effect. I normally take around my Jawbone Jambox from room to room if ever the need to project sound of any variety; for everything else, headphones are more than my cup of tea, but a necessity. Based on what I already knew of the brand and the good word being spread, I only needed to take one look at sheer number of reviews and the highly positive feedback -- I am now amplifying -- and the provisional discount beckoned me to give it a go-for and a weasle; my Spidey sense was tingling. They had arrived earlier than expected, by a few days. After discovering that they are based in Hollywood I had a theory as to why delivery was so fast -- I am only a few miles away. The box was quite lovely. So much so that I've yet been able to throw it out. In fact it's still in the Amazon box as well. The packaging was as close to perfect as physics would allow. Everything, including the headphones themselves were gorgeous. Just one quick glimpse is all that's needed to tell that the build quality is superb. And one gentle fondling of the goodies is all that was needed to know that V-Moda means business. I've owned many headphones in my day, nothing extravagant, just enough to get the job done so to speak. This was the first set that I've owned to have a detachable cable -- a godsend. Had I known this would have made such a difference and eased my daily woes I would have surely jumped ship along time ago during the Who Wants to be a Millionaire era. And, it comes with two with one bearing a microphone and play button for mobile devices. It's like my mind was read. The included case is also one of the most thoughtful and valuable accessories that I have ever seen in a bundle such as this. Despite all that, I have to knock it for not including the kitchen sink. But it's very clear that not only was the entire product well thought out, but also there is a deep sense of pride taken in creating the whole package and a desire to produce and exude the most value possible. If anyone is looking into getting these or at least curious to try them out, I would suggest you DO SO just based on the value and build of everything that is offered. Even if you wound up NOT liking the headphone, you could not deny that this company knows how to put together a product and deserves applause for their efforts. For the first time I find myself taking these headphones with me in their included case. I just attach the case to my messenger bag (Man-purse or murse) -- yeah I carry a bag, they rock and much as they are useful and if you can't accept that, then you my friend are NOT a progressive individual -- and I'm off. Just to be clear on this point again, they look and feel great as does the entire package as a whole. Before I threw them over my ears I was already aware from other reviews of the very present low-end midrange on these. Sure enough, it was there. Had I not even known of this beforehand I would have caught it at the first sign. It is highly noticeable, but it's also what gives these their character and charm. I should give an idea of what I listen to, to better give a sense of what I'm throwing at them. I listen to just about everything under the sun minus rap/hip-hop and it's variants as well as country music. Since that is too broad and not all too useful, I will name names: Dream Theater, Devin Townsend, Black Sabbath (Dio & Martin era), Strapping Young Lad, Nevermore, Meshuggah; those are just some of the more metal-ish things I listen to, I also listen to Infected Mushroom, Skazi, Computech, GMS, Dynamic, and so on for material more inline with what these headphones are made for. I also do plenty of classic rock: Led Zepplin, Deep Purple, Rainbow, Supertramp, ELO, and pretty much any other classic rock band ever. I even listen to some classical from my classical guitar days, Wagner, Mozart, Bach, and all the other big guys as well as some lesser known like Albeniz, Barrios, Weird Al, and others. It sounds really good with just about anything, but really shines and stands out with EDM music. I had an issue with some classic rock at first, some classic rock stuff that was less refined tended to be a bit muddy and lose some of it's definition. I recall listening to Rainbow's Spotlight Kid and the guitar being very mushy in the lower register and being a bit of a mess. I'm glad to report that it looks like some speaker break-in was all that was needed to make these sound good. They now playback the same tune and more with a lot of clarity, but still maintain that distinctive low-midrange. The high's are pulled back just enough to keep them from hissing and there is also a little shortage of higher midrange, though this is not necessarily a bad thing. Infected Mushroom's Pink Nightmares comes through nice and powerful with nothing seeming lost and the details being very present. I've also noticed that despite anything being played at louder-than-normal volumes, everything sounds distinctive and without nearly any distortion -- except when maxed out on my Mac. They appear to take to equalizers very well; the slightest tweaks making worlds of difference in the color. The
