When the SJ200 was introduced in 1937 it was built to cut through the volume of acoustic ensembles. While providing the volume needed, it also became an instrument of choice for many players of the 1930s. It’s deep, powerful, and well balanced tone made it one of the most famous guitars in the world. The Gibson True Vintage SJ200 resembles the structure of a 1950’s version. Its jumbo body is constructed of figured maple back and sides accompanied by an Adirondack spruce top. The neck is also figured maple with a rosewood fingerboard and graduated crown inlays. Hide glue was used for the top bracing for better resonance and tonal responsiveness.. This product comes with a case.
