The Frankenstein represents Eddie Van Halen’s attempt to combine the sound of a Gibson with the look of a Strat. The body and neck were purchased as parts for $130.00. Eddie then routed out the bridge pickup cavity to make room for a Gibson PAF humbucker. He also placed a nonfunctioning single coil and three way pickup selector to occupy the remaining empty pickup routs. Eddie stuck a 1971 quarter under the Floyd Rose trem, so the builders actually went out and dug up enough 1971 quarters for these replicas. To top it off, the guitar was painted with Eddie's iconic red, white, and black striped paint job. The original is currently housed at the American History Museum in Washington, DC. All wear and tear and components have been designed to replicate the original. These replica's are limited to only 300 instruments worldwide.. This product comes with a case.
