The MC-125 Professional Studio Boom Stand's larger-diameter base and locking, rollerblade-style wheels provide a low center of gravity and extra stability. Smoothly raise or lower height from 51.5"-82.75" with a reliable clutch. Long boom telescopes from 35"-61" and features a friction-free clutch arm extension. Also includes a unique, easy-adjust 5.75-lb. counterweight. Rollerblade-style wheels travel smoothly. Threaded shaft and boom sections provide quick set up and tear down for easy transport and storage.

Sturdy and quiet!

The Ultimate MC-125 has a very heavy base that, besides adding stability, eliminates room noise from your recording. Fully extended, I can place a mic above my house(!), and with the counterweight, can place a mic or stereo pair above an ensemble without interfering with the audience. After hearing the difference, I would definitely shell out for a stable stand like this before investing in a $200 shock mount if non-mechanical vibration is an issue.

The best stand for the money

Well a rep from GC recommended this stand to me & I'm glad he did is really amazing is the best stand you can buy for the price is fully adjustable steady & noise free, simply easy to handle. so I'm ordering another one, remember if you buy & expensive mic you need this stand.
