Not another tube screamer clone

By Jonathan

Comments about Visual Sound GarageTone Series Drivetrain Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal:

The garage tone overdrive from Visual sound isn't the same green boxed clone you buy every time you trade in your old overdrive. This is an example of a new direction with an overdrive pedal. It can push into a low range distortion but cleans up for just a little dirt. It isn't as thick as some pedals but it makes up for that in tonal versatility. Most people think they're shaping their tone using pedal controls when really they are shaping the tone and shape of the overdrive. The bass and treble can subtly make this into a great go-to drive. A lot of people didn't like but they were all using humbucking lespauls. I ran a telecaster into and really enjoyed the subtle sounds. A P90 worked it harder than the single coils and I got a much thicker OD. It's a great and cheaper alternative to the Way Huge pork-loin as well because you get a little bit of your clean signal leaking over into the dirt. It's solid as well and hooks up to a daisy chained power supply with no problems or converters. True bypass switching is always a plus, but I'm hoping they redo these with the Pure-Bypass stuff they've been putting out in version 2 of the doubles No quarrel here. Just a solid alternative to the tube screamer clones galore. It's not going to destroy you with gain, but its going to give you dirt with a hint of clarity. Enjoy!
