Overview

The Trick Pro 1-V Detonator double pedal is in fact 2 fully functioning single pedals joined together as a double. The innovative design does away with the notorious sloppy action of standard slave pedals. By using two independent single pedals linked together with the advanced universal joint system, today's drummer can cover all the bases, in every possible playing scenario.

The Trick Pro 1-V Detonator is an engineering marvel. It features innovative design elements, aerospace materials - titanium, billet aluminum, stainless and hardened steel - and is machined on the latest state of the art CNC equipment. These technical innovations result in one thing: A pedal that plays like no other.

Compression Spring Technology
The Pro 1-V Detonator utilizes an internally housed compression spring. Compression springs have the ability to cycle faster and utilize energy more efficiently. The benefit is a pedal that will react as fast as your foot. The compression spring works with the profiled cam follower to reduce the amount of spring tension build-up as the beater approaches the drum head; this gives you a more fluid stroke from beginning to end. Spring tension is adjustable while you're playing - simply turn the spring dial that is conveniently located within easy reach at the top of the main housing. Imagine no longer having to remove your pedal from the hoop to change tension settings.

Independent Split-Cam System
Because of the split-cam systems design, you can now change the attitude and attack of the pedal in seconds. Trick's fully independent split cam system allows the player to infinitely and independently adjust the beater from the drive cam angle with a 360-degree range of smooth yet solid settings. This system also allows for immediate conversion of the Pro 1-V Detonator into a cocktail kit pedal or a triggering pedal.

Multi-Position Stroke Adjustment Cluster
This three position cluster is an integral part of the sophisticated geometry at work on the Pro 1-V Detonator. It gives the player separate adjustments for the footboard angle, pedal action and throw. This feature is patent pending.

Beaters
Universally adjustable, the Pro 1-V Detonator Bass Drum Beaters can be easily moved to any height/angle along the titanium shafts within seconds by using a standard size drum key. This allows the beater to strike your desired location on any sized bass drum without radically affecting the overall pedal feel. Hard/Soft surface change-out options are also included with beaters.

Footboard
The Pro 1-V Detonator footboard is machined from solid billet aluminum that is rigorously fracture tested to 12,000 pounds per square inch. The footboard is attached to the heel plate using a pressed-fit hardened solid steel pin which is extremely reliable and durable.

Base Plate - The Pro 1-V Detonator base plate is machined from solid billet aluminum. This provides the Pro 1-V Detonator with an ultra sturdy platform on which everything else is built. The base plate is tensile strength certified to withstand over 12,000 PSI.

Slide-Trac Rapid Release Hoop Clamp
This multi-purpose feature streamlines your set-up time. To connect the Pro 1-V Detonator to your bass drum, simply hold down on the spring loaded lever and slide the pedal onto your hoop and release! No more fumbling to screw and unscrew wing nuts. When it's time to pack up, simply squeeze down on the lever to disengage the clamp, remove your Pro 1- V Detonator pedal, and hit the road! The Slide-Trac has three memory set-screws so you can preset your hoop size and distance from the head for fast set up and tear down, time after time. It also allows the Pro 1-V Detonator to fit snugly and perfectly on any brand of bass drum hoop regardless of the width or thickness. This is truly a pedal like no other. Experience the difference. Try one for yourself today.

The Pro 1-V DetonatorDouble Pedal is in the Trick tradition of providing drummers with more value and more options.

Bought these so thought it was fair to give you an honest assesment of what I believe to be the finest pedal ever manufacured. With the 12yr.old IC's getting older, I decided to go new. Direct drive is far from new (the 70's)but marketing has demands so re-enter the era.I think the reason these pedals went out in the first place is the lack of power. The demons are super smooth but cheap feeling under the feet.I don't care what any one says, they will NEVER feel like chain driven eccentric cams. These increase power as they approach the head which makes your job as the drummer easier. The directs assist with the rebound allowing for a quick second strike.I want both in a pedal and the demons are built for speed only.Problem is, chain drive doubles all have serious play in their linkage.Side by side with a Trick proV,the demons got smoked.Sorry Pearl lovers but it's true.Develop your technique and you can play on ANY pedal but it's either got power or it doesn't.Both have serious adjustments and while I got the Trick to have power, couldn't with the demon. Both linkages are great with zero and I mean zero play. But the Tricks were better balanced(slave to master), smoother and yes, faster due to the compression spring.Sliding the track assembly back farther gave it chain drive feel with direct drive speed.I will have to get used to the Trick's quickness,it's that fast. Sorry Pearl, I can't believe all these people love your pedals...they are weak with only TWO beater stroke adjustments-1) fast and 2)heavy and slow, with lack of power in each.Nice features but my guess is they aren't really being used by endorsees.Axis has the variable drive for power and the Tricks are just absolutely ridiculously awesome all the way around. You decide but don't say you weren't warned. If you have to play Pearl, I'd check out the Eliminator instead.Otherwise Tricks will make your left foot stronger and is the closet thing I've experienced to a comprimise between direct and chained offset cam. No way Jordison REALLY uses Demons, no way...couldn't get that heavy strike like he gets with his Cobras(BTW, still great pedals).Don't believe the hype with the Demons.Try them next to a Trick like I did, spend hours with both(for adjustments-you will need the time)and tell me I'm wrong.I hear Trick customer service is unparalled as well. Good luck with what ever you decide and rock on!

I bought this pedal as I was upscaling my drum gear a few years ago. Everything I'd read about it made my mouth water. When I bought it I thought it was a beautiful piece of machinery to look at and was very excited about trying it out. I attached it to my kick and started playing with it. I'm a single kick player and have gotten used to using rebounds to accent and push into another kick hit quickly to get fairly fast and consistent hits. When I tried to use my techniques with the Pro1-v I struggled. The action is so smooth on this pedal that I realized I needed to learn to adapt to the physics of the rebound and the way the pedal plays. I worked with it semi regularly for a few weeks but just kept struggling with getting some of the finer hits I'd been able to get with my Yamaha Dragon. I know this pedal is great. So much to like about it but since I'm a semi-pro and I've got my pedal technique dialed into the way I like it, I decided I didn't want to have to work so hard to re-configure my foot playing. It seems for most others it really worked out and I wish I could say it did for me. Objectively I can say it's a great pedal though.

    Beautiful piece of equipment!

    By Theodora Mason

Comments about Trick Pro 1-V Detonator Double-Bass Drum Pedal:

You can adjust most things on this pedal while it's attached to the drum. Even the beater is adjustable, so you can get it to hit squarely(flat) on the drum head. This pedal has a very smooth, noisless, action. The slave pedal is unforgiving(whatever you do on it happens), and dead on,sweet! No excuses now! Lol This pedal should increase your speed and endurance. It's like "butter"
I've had this pedal a few weeks. I've been making a few simple adjustments. So easy to do!
This pedal can do anything you want. Lots of tension, very loose action and everything in between.
You'll need to use the velcro to hold the pedal. A spur would be a good idea.
This is a heavy duty pedal. Very sleek. Solid as a rock!
Hey, you get what you pay for. For me , the simplicity of adjustments, the huge range of adjustment, machined aircraft standard aluminum, nothing better than this, make this a great value compared to what else is available.

    Simply the BEST pedals available!

    By Robert

Comments about Trick Pro 1-V Detonator Double-Bass Drum Pedal:

Hands-down, these are the best pedals money can buy. They are infinitely adjustable, and easily adjustable. Built like a tank to last forever. Play these for an hour, and you'll never go near Iron Cobras or Demon Drives again. Axis fall apart, Trick pedals are indestructible, and smooth as ice. The Tricks are worth every penny I paid for them, and more. HIGHLY recommended!

Some people are never happy !

    By Great White

    from Palmdale, Ca.

Comments about Trick Pro 1-V Detonator Double-Bass Drum Pedal:

Listen, some people would find a complaint if you handed them a million dollars ! Yes, it is advisable to put velcro on the bottom of the pedals. I even put some non -slipping material on the top. No, it does not come with a hardcase, although it does come with cardboard carrying cases for each pedal (personally, If your biggest concern is the carrying case, I have to question your seriousness about drumming). If you feel the beaters are too light, you can add trick weights, or buy the heavier dominator beater (I am actually going to try this out). I have had to add some grease to the pedal to stop a little squeaking(no big deal). If your bass drum spurs arent good than the pedals can slide from side to side because of pressure from your foot, but velcro fixes this. Now, I have had my pedals for about 6 months now, and have messed with the things nearly everyday to expiriment with different of playing. I just now actually have found the area thadjustments. It was actually kind of fun to find which would be the better position for my foot and style at I am mostly happy with. Let me tell you something. First off, if you have such a complaint about these pedals, it is most likely that you are not being patient enough to really explore these pedals. You need to remember it takes time to adjust to something different, no matter what it is. Now that I have found my pedal position, I am doing kicks I have never been able to do before with proper practice (I am learning a new style of drumming, and there is always something new to learn, It doesn't matter how many years you've been playing.....). I know that I will be able to get the full potential of my bass drumming with these pedals, because they have allowed me to explore the different possibilities of the pedal. The weight balance and foot feeling is sturdy. I have full confidence that I can hit these things any way I want to without worrying about them breaking on me. To me, especially this, is worth the money. Speaking of money, The other drum companies ask just as much for their top of the line pedals !! One last thing. I did previously have the Pearl Powershifters. I too had to experiment with those, and let me tell you what a headache it was of having to "switch out" the different color cams for different styles of playing. Absolutely ridiculous. How nice it is to have a simple dial in front of you to adjust your tension, and a simple turn of the drum key for foot board feeling. Buy a real pair of pedals like TRICK and you will never have to invest in another pair of pedals again. The funny part is, if you find the TRICK pedals aren't for you, than you can always turn rite around and sell them to someone else for just as much as you brought them for because everyone wants a pair, they just don't want to kick up the money to buy them, so they talk mess about them ! Buy TRICK dudes !!!

    Absolutely The Best!!

    By Ben Jordan

    from Gilmer, Texas

Comments about Trick Pro 1-V Detonator Double-Bass Drum Pedal:

I've had the Pro 1-V Double for over a year now, and it's still as good as new. They are infinitely adjustable. Whatever feel you normally go for can be dialed in relatively quickly. Extremely fast and quiet. Trick pedals are just as quick as Axis, yet they are MUCH more durable. If I had known they were making a longboard version, I would have waited for it. The only complaints I have are no spurs and no case. If you're not on a drum rug, or a surface that velcro will stick to, the left pedal will run away from you. Occasionally the right side will work its way off of the hoop as well. These pedals are quite expensive. You would think that Trick would make some sort of case to keep them safe, but no... Other than that, Trick Pro 1-V pedals are the BEST!!!

Comments about Trick Pro 1-V Detonator Double-Bass Drum Pedal:

I have used this pedal for a while now, at first it is a little tricky getting to grips with the shere amount you can alter, but once you get it right it's perfect. you need to take time with this pedal test the different levels and angles till you get what is right for you, but once you do you'll never want another pedal again

    The BEST!!!

    By endless120

    from NY

Comments about Trick Pro 1-V Detonator Double-Bass Drum Pedal:

I've been drumming for over 31 years and have owned 5 different double bass pedals all at the same time. From the Iron Cobra's to Axis Longboards, you name it, I've owned it. While all these pedals were very good, only one could "rise-to-the-top." That happens to be the Pro V BIGFOOT hands down, no discussion, no debate. The Pro V BIGFOOT has the best features without a doubt. There are so many options be prepared to spend some time making numerous adjustments. This will be a very time consuming process which will require a lot of patience, but will be well worth it. The more features you have, the more you can custom tailor the pedal to your liking. Again, prepare to spend some time in this area. The quality of the Pro V BIGFOOT blows all other pedals away. Period. While the Iron Cobra's and Axis Longboards are all very nice pedals there's really no comparison to the quality and craftmenship of the Pro V BIGFOOT. Simply unparalleled. There's an old saying, "you get what you pay for." While the Pro V BIGFOOT is probably the most expensive pedal on the market, there's a reason. It's worth it.Overall I'm in the process of selling ALL my other bass drum pedals to compensate for the two Pro V BIGFOOTS that I've just purchased. I liked the first pedal so much, I had to buy another. I personally use the "heel-toe" method for bass drumming and I need a longboard pedal for this. The Pro V BIGFOOT has features simply not available on other longboard pedals. These features make all the difference in the world for my playing. The Pro V BIGFOOT has enabled me to play twice as fast with half the effort. While these pedals are expensive, they are the BEST investment I've made for my bass drum technique. If you have the chops (and the money) I personally don't see how anyone could be disappointed with the Pro V BIGFOOT. In my book, they're worth the investment as they're simply the BEST!
