The Trick Pro 1-V Detonator double pedal is in fact 2 fully functioning single pedals joined together as a double. The innovative design does away with the notorious sloppy action of standard slave pedals. By using two independent single pedals linked together with the advanced universal joint system, today's drummer can cover all the bases, in every possible playing scenario.
The Trick Pro 1-V Detonator is an engineering marvel. It features innovative design elements, aerospace materials - titanium, billet aluminum, stainless and hardened steel - and is machined on the latest state of the art CNC equipment. These technical innovations result in one thing: A pedal that plays like no other.
Compression Spring Technology
The Pro 1-V Detonator utilizes an internally housed compression spring. Compression springs have the ability to cycle faster and utilize energy more efficiently. The benefit is a pedal that will react as fast as your foot. The compression spring works with the profiled cam follower to reduce the amount of spring tension build-up as the beater approaches the drum head; this gives you a more fluid stroke from beginning to end. Spring tension is adjustable while you're playing - simply turn the spring dial that is conveniently located within easy reach at the top of the main housing. Imagine no longer having to remove your pedal from the hoop to change tension settings.
Independent Split-Cam System
Because of the split-cam systems design, you can now change the attitude and attack of the pedal in seconds. Trick's fully independent split cam system allows the player to infinitely and independently adjust the beater from the drive cam angle with a 360-degree range of smooth yet solid settings. This system also allows for immediate conversion of the Pro 1-V Detonator into a cocktail kit pedal or a triggering pedal.
Multi-Position Stroke Adjustment Cluster
This three position cluster is an integral part of the sophisticated geometry at work on the Pro 1-V Detonator. It gives the player separate adjustments for the footboard angle, pedal action and throw. This feature is patent pending.
Universally adjustable, the Pro 1-V Detonator Bass Drum Beaters can be easily moved to any height/angle along the titanium shafts within seconds by using a standard size drum key. This allows the beater to strike your desired location on any sized bass drum without radically affecting the overall pedal feel. Hard/Soft surface change-out options are also included with beaters.
The Pro 1-V Detonator footboard is machined from solid billet aluminum that is rigorously fracture tested to 12,000 pounds per square inch. The footboard is attached to the heel plate using a pressed-fit hardened solid steel pin which is extremely reliable and durable.
Base Plate - The Pro 1-V Detonator base plate is machined from solid billet aluminum. This provides the Pro 1-V Detonator with an ultra sturdy platform on which everything else is built. The base plate is tensile strength certified to withstand over 12,000 PSI.
Slide-Trac Rapid Release Hoop Clamp
This multi-purpose feature streamlines your set-up time. To connect the Pro 1-V Detonator to your bass drum, simply hold down on the spring loaded lever and slide the pedal onto your hoop and release! No more fumbling to screw and unscrew wing nuts. When it's time to pack up, simply squeeze down on the lever to disengage the clamp, remove your Pro 1- V Detonator pedal, and hit the road! The Slide-Trac has three memory set-screws so you can preset your hoop size and distance from the head for fast set up and tear down, time after time. It also allows the Pro 1-V Detonator to fit snugly and perfectly on any brand of bass drum hoop regardless of the width or thickness. This is truly a pedal like no other. Experience the difference. Try one for yourself today.
The Pro 1-V DetonatorDouble Pedal is in the Trick tradition of providing drummers with more value and more options.

I bought this pedal as I was upscaling my drum gear a few years ago. Everything I'd read about it made my mouth water. When I bought it I thought it was a beautiful piece of machinery to look at and was very excited about trying it out. I attached it to my kick and started playing with it. I'm a single kick player and have gotten used to using rebounds to accent and push into another kick hit quickly to get fairly fast and consistent hits. When I tried to use my techniques with the Pro1-v I struggled. The action is so smooth on this pedal that I realized I needed to learn to adapt to the physics of the rebound and the way the pedal plays. I worked with it semi regularly for a few weeks but just kept struggling with getting some of the finer hits I'd been able to get with my Yamaha Dragon. I know this pedal is great. So much to like about it but since I'm a semi-pro and I've got my pedal technique dialed into the way I like it, I decided I didn't want to have to work so hard to re-configure my foot playing. It seems for most others it really worked out and I wish I could say it did for me. Objectively I can say it's a great pedal though.
Bought these so thought it was fair to give you an honest assesment of what I believe to be the finest pedal ever manufacured. With the 12yr.old IC's getting older, I decided to go new. Direct drive is far from new (the 70's)but marketing has demands so re-enter the era.I think the reason these pedals went out in the first place is the lack of power. The demons are super smooth but cheap feeling under the feet.I don't care what any one says, they will NEVER feel like chain driven eccentric cams. These increase power as they approach the head which makes your job as the drummer easier. The directs assist with the rebound allowing for a quick second strike.I want both in a pedal and the demons are built for speed only.Problem is, chain drive doubles all have serious play in their linkage.Side by side with a Trick proV,the demons got smoked.Sorry Pearl lovers but it's true.Develop your technique and you can play on ANY pedal but it's either got power or it doesn't.Both have serious adjustments and while I got the Trick to have power, couldn't with the demon. Both linkages are great with zero and I mean zero play. But the Tricks were better balanced(slave to master), smoother and yes, faster due to the compression spring.Sliding the track assembly back farther gave it chain drive feel with direct drive speed.I will have to get used to the Trick's quickness,it's that fast. Sorry Pearl, I can't believe all these people love your pedals...they are weak with only TWO beater stroke adjustments-1) fast and 2)heavy and slow, with lack of power in each.Nice features but my guess is they aren't really being used by endorsees.Axis has the variable drive for power and the Tricks are just absolutely ridiculously awesome all the way around. You decide but don't say you weren't warned. If you have to play Pearl, I'd check out the Eliminator instead.Otherwise Tricks will make your left foot stronger and is the closet thing I've experienced to a comprimise between direct and chained offset cam. No way Jordison REALLY uses Demons, no way...couldn't get that heavy strike like he gets with his Cobras(BTW, still great pedals).Don't believe the hype with the Demons.Try them next to a Trick like I did, spend hours with both(for adjustments-you will need the time)and tell me I'm wrong.I hear Trick customer service is unparalled as well. Good luck with what ever you decide and rock on!
Hands-down, these are the best pedals money can buy. They are infinitely adjustable, and easily adjustable. Built like a tank to last forever. Play these for an hour, and you'll never go near Iron Cobras or Demon Drives again. Axis fall apart, Trick pedals are indestructible, and smooth as ice. The Tricks are worth every penny I paid for them, and more. HIGHLY recommended!
I've had the Pro 1-V Double for over a year now, and it's still as good as new. They are infinitely adjustable. Whatever feel you normally go for can be dialed in relatively quickly. Extremely fast and quiet. Trick pedals are just as quick as Axis, yet they are MUCH more durable. If I had known they were making a longboard version, I would have waited for it. The only complaints I have are no spurs and no case. If you're not on a drum rug, or a surface that velcro will stick to, the left pedal will run away from you. Occasionally the right side will work its way off of the hoop as well. These pedals are quite expensive. You would think that Trick would make some sort of case to keep them safe, but no... Other than that, Trick Pro 1-V pedals are the BEST!!!
Very versitile pedal. In playing intricate bass drum patterns, it either lets you do all the work or it does the work for you; and it takes little getting used to. Pedal possesses very sensitive chacteristics with the slightest spring tension. Slave linkage transfers all power and energy just like single. Slave spring assembly is inside slave pedal and makes splitting into two singles a matter of just switching the beater to the other pedal. Quick release hoop clamps makes for fast pedal changes from sitting on the throne. Great pedal for sensitivity and speed. Wise investment.
Great feel. A little hard to get adjusted initially but after that it is great!! Wonderful craftsmanship. Super smooth and looks good too. A little pricey for the beginner but not for what you get.
