I saw someone at the airport with a carry on acoustic travel guitar that was pretty small, looked kind of like a standard guitar, and was kind of expensive. I was considering purchasing one, but then I saw this at Guitar Center online. Costs less, is smaller, is durable enough to check on inside a suitcase, and you don't have to worry about humidity because it is a solid hardwood body. No, it doesn't look traditional, but for my practice guitar I wasn't concerned about that. It's quiet when unamplified, but pleasant sounding. Someone compared it to an electric guitar with the power off. Yes, it's similar, but a little more robust due to the fact that this is the acoustic model with thicker strings. I can play it at home when the TV is on, or in a hotel late at night and not worry about disturbing others. The neck is straight and comfortable, and the quality of workmanship is excellent. No buzzing frets. When plugged into an amp it sounds great! I also use my iRig adapter and my Amplitube app so I can play with my earbuds when I travel. I'm just a novice, but since I got this guitar, I've been able to practice enough to tackle the F chord and I'm working on the B chord. When I'm good enough, I can "join the band" at retreats, etc. when I travel by motorcycle. I'll just take my small practice amp or plug in to their system. More convenient than taking my treasured Taylor every time. I've noticed that this guitar feels different due to the small, flat body and the slippery chrome leg rest. I find myself adjusting it a lot right now on my lap. Maybe I'll get used to it. The good thing is it's so small you can sit in any easy chair or even lie on the couch and play it--probably not a good habit to learn. The fretboard is standard scale but the guitar is shorter, so your left arm isn't extended as far as it normally would be--which is good when learning chords. I would recommend it or buy another one. I'm thinking about buying the electric guitar version too.

Comments about Traveler Guitar Ultra-Light Acoustic-Electric Travel Guitar:

I did quite a bit of research before I found this guitar. I really like it! The light weight took some getting used to, since I typically play a full-size acoustic sitting down, the neck tended to wander. I got a strap and now I rarely use the chrome bar. The gig bag pocket holds everything I need on the road: mini-amp, earphones, Snark tuner, picks, and a field recorder, plus the chrome bar.

It fits nicely under my folded-up rear truck seat when on the road, and also very neatly in airline overheads. The bag strap makes it easy to carry in airports.

Sounds is pretty good using the amp & earphones, and in pure acoustic mode it is low volume for hotel rooms.

I highly recommend this guitar for keeping your chops while traveling.

Comments about Traveler Guitar Ultra-Light Acoustic-Electric Travel Guitar:

I researched several travel guitars until I found this one. It is perfect for my needs! Compact, lightweight, and fun to play.

It took some time to get used to the low weight, it wanted to wander around while changing fingerings. So I bought the matching strap and that helps a lot. I rarely use the metal bracket any more.

The guitar fits very neatly under my folded up rear truck seat, and the gig bag holds everything I need :A Vox headphone amp, , earphones, some picks, a Snark Tuner, and a TASCAM Field recorder. The backstrap allows the guitar to be carried keeping your arms free.

I like the sound and feel of the guitar, using the amp and a set of earphones. In pure acoustic mode, the low volume doesn't disturb others, and is perfect for use in a hotel room.

I had a buzz initially, Mike at Customer Support got back with me pretty quickly and this was resolved by tightening the strap/amp jack button.

I highly recommend this for travelers who want to stay in practice and work on their chops while on the road.

Comments about Traveler Guitar Ultra-Light Acoustic-Electric Travel Guitar:

I love this guitar!! It is small and light enough to bring on my bicycle anywhere. It plays well, it is just a little awkward due to its size. A strap helps a bit. The action feels somewhere between my Strat and a good acoustic. I am suprises how well it stays in tune even after a day out on a bike ride. This guitars defiantly gets me to play more, which is the whole point right?

Comments about Traveler Guitar Ultra-Light Acoustic-Electric Travel Guitar:

Love the portability and love the weight. It is a little awkward without a strap but overall this is a great portable guitar. I think the one risk was buying and paying ahead of time. There was no problem with the product but I did take a chance in purchasing without trying it out.

Comments about Traveler Guitar Ultra-Light Acoustic-Electric Travel Guitar:

Almost exactly what I wanted. Small form, full scale acoustic guitar, for travel/practice. Fit and finish is pretty good, no issues so far. I like that it is basically full cutaway, so you can more easily use the upper frets without acoustic body interference. You will need a headphone amp of some type as there is no pre-amp built in. The signal is a little noisy, but that could be my preamp. The demos out there on youtube sound fine. Very satisfied with this purchase

I can sleep with this guitar, and it is still in tune when I grab it in the morning. I can take it to the beach or anywhere easily. I was expecting to replace the electronics, but it sounds so good paired with my Yamaha THR 10C, there is no reason to do so. Don't be turned off by "Piezo electric pickup". It's a good thing. If you are looking for a bare bones guitar that plays nicely, look no further.

I'll probably have to put some grip tape on the metal bar to help keep it from sliding down my leg. Also, when you plug it up to an amp, you'll have to turn the high knob down to avoid the scratching sound you get when changing notes.
