I've had my traveler pro for over 3 years & it is starting to show some wear. The neck however is still perfect. I work offshore in the Gulf of Mexico & it flies in cramped helicopters and/or rolls around on crew boats every 2 weeks. It travels in my sea bag and is mishandled every trip. The issues I've seen with other reviews do apply here too. I used the stethaphone twice, it hurt and I left it at home after that. Offshore, I play through a Line 6 Guitar Port to a laptop and the tones I get in these harsh conditions and through simple equipment are amazing. After all this time, I still haven't settled on string choice. The lap rest is held together with super glue & tape. A good tuning is hard to achieve and keep. String changing is a major chore. My work clothes on the rig are shredded by the string ends on the backside tuners. All in all, it is one of the coolest things I own. If it were lost, I'd have to order another tomorrow. Many, many people offshore have asked me "just what is that thing & where can I get one". Thanks for a fine product.

I spend about every other day in a hotel somewhere. I've always wanted to learn to play and with this product and all my downtime I figured it was time to do it. I just recently received my Pro Series and was initially very pleased. The guitar seemed well built and capable of doing everything it is supposed to. When I used the stethophones it sounded great. A short time later I got a practice amp to use with the guitar I bought for home, and that's when I discovered the problems. The electronics are completely useless on this particular one. There is a terrible buzz as soon as it's plugged in. The buzz changes or quiets down when you touch any of the electrical components or the back cover, and the switch doesn't seem to do anything. I'm in the process of trying to get these issues fixed and I'll update my review when there is some kind of resolution. I can't believe this is an issue with all of them, it seems like a well made instrument in every other way. Just my luck! I recommend getting one if you need it, I would just make sure to pick one up in a store so that you could check it out before taking it home.

Comments about Traveler Guitar Pro Series Travel Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Doesn't feel awkward like other travel guitar's I've tried. And it is amazing how small it is when flying. The sound is ok. The headphones that it comes with are odd, like a stethoscope but without them it sounds good enough to practice in a hotel room. If you need sounds the pickup works great.

Comments about Traveler Guitar Pro Series Travel Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Concept design is great, but I had to return the guitar because of quality issues: the electric pickup was not properly height-adjusted (bad volume balance between it and acoustic pickup), the 6th string buzzed and no way to adjust height of bridge saddle. I loved the compact design and the stethophone earphones, but was not of the quality I needed for travel gigs.

    Amazing travel guitar some limitations

    By Sam Feldman

    from Los Angeles

Comments about Traveler Guitar Pro Series Travel Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have other travel guitars. This one has an amazing neck. Seemed to stay in tune sounds great thru e piezo, short but full scale. I had the eg custom but was very disappointed found that the Traveler series goes backwards in quality; The UL like the pro here is the best, the speedster is a great electric travel and the EG had tuning problems, only 21 frets, more money. The 4. Stars is in that u have to put a second piece on or off to put away ALSO, the SC pup is noisy and trebly. THE piezo sounds so good I would just use that pickup thru an electric amp for electric. Thereby making the pickup options unnecessary. The other ultra lights have no vol. control or pickup selection. Seems to be strung for acoustic light (10?) the wound g keeps the tuning well. I'm not sure how weird it will be to change strings but it stays in tune already well. I played leads chords slapping really fun. The stethoscope is a nice idea ( the pocket rocket is an option on the tops of the line) it sounds like the backpacker a little banjo-like. u may just want to play with no sound for convenience or plug in to a pod etc... And headphones. Pros: solid neck, very short and light, piezo sounds great, 22frets, electric option limited, ultimately it feels and plays great for me. You should try all three categories of traveler. This one is awesome for me. Cons: SC too noisy and trebly, extra piece to screw on, stethoscope is nice but primitive and u still need to use a strap or lap piece, does not fit in case fully assembled, Input jack poorly placed These are minor complaints even if I just use the piezo it is an awesome piece of equipment but I would try a yamaha silent if the mp3 feature is more important to you than size. For airport the traveler pro and UL is the best I have seen so far." Things to look for: easy to string? Electronics over time, intonation over time, will I ever use the single coil?, durability A very well made travel guitar

Comments about Traveler Guitar Pro Series Travel Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar is realy good. You can make it sound like an acoustic or electric. First time playing is not so easy need to practice. Diferent way to play but it is good to keep you in a good shape. It is just too expensive.

Comments about Traveler Guitar Pro Series Travel Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar while traveling in the US. Worked great.

After returning home I finally plugged it in to an amp to discover that the 1/4" output jack doesn't work. Although there is a licensed distributor and repair dealer in the country I live, Travel Guitar is unwilling to pick up the cost of repair and have asked me to ship it back to the US - which would cost me enough to be prohibitive. Yeah, the repair isn't complicated and I can easily get it done, but it would be nice to have Travel Guitar stand by the quality of their products. The guitar was 1 week old by the time I returned home.

        It's the principle of it.

Comments about Traveler Guitar Pro Series Travel Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Just pulled this out of the box and can't say enough great things about this mini-hybrid guitar. It is so different, but plays amazing. I A/B'd it to a Bose Compact for acoustic sound and an Orange Tiny Terror with 12" cab in the other. OMG!! This is great. I gig regularly with a Breedlove D25 and Taylor T5 and this little Traveler Pro Series A/E makes me reconsider my rig. Granted, the ergonomics are different and you have to get adjusted to playing with no arm rest, but man, I just couldn't put it down. And it's so light!! Also, as others have mentioned, great for practicing with no amp. Definitely check this out....its a keeper!

Now, I will have fun everywhere! Play very nicely, sound great with my Tascam MP-GT1. Need time to get confortable but worth it.
Very good quality and finish, full scale neck and fit on my backpack.
        Worth the money.

        Update on previous review

        By Ed McMullen

        from New Castle, PA

Comments about Traveler Guitar Pro Series Travel Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I previously wrote about problems with the electronics being an issue on the Pro Series I purchased. When I received the guitar I went to Traveler's site to register. They talk about how customer service is a priority for them, so I mentioned I was having a problem. I received an e-mail from them in a few days and wound up talking to a representative on the phone. He explained a little about the guitar to make sure it wasn't user error, and then sent the authority #'s needed to return the guitar to them for repair. All postage paid. Looking forward to getting it back and enjoying. As mentioned earlier, everything else about the guitar was great. Good customer service is another big plus.

Comments about Traveler Guitar Pro Series Travel Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Overall a great buy, it will last for years and is a great way to take your music with you.
I have had this guitar for years and it has been on hundreds of planes with me. the padded case is great and it has survived very well. it is small enough that you can put it in a backpack with the neck sticking out so if you go thru airports it can count as one piece. I tend to play with headphones and the sound is great, but can also rock with an amp. you will not be dissapointed!
