  • A Professional Travelers Saving Grace

As reviewed by Metallica Nut on 11/11/2010

I am a professional IT guy/geek who travels every week, making it hard to practice and frustrating to have playing withdrawls. I bought my Ultralight in Aug 2009 and have used it over a one year. I LOVE it. It looks like a blonde Steinberger, is easy to pass thru security in airports, I have Never been questioned/refused it as a 3rd piece of luggage, and it is a Great conversation starter at airport bars. It is Much more entertaining practicing than listening to a MP3 player. My stick stays in tune - even when travel across states. continents and drastic changes of temperature and humidity. The piezo pickup sounds good for 'acoustic' sounds and does a great job even for metal riffs (my favorite BTW). Recommended 'amps': Vox Amp-plugs - get the Acoustic model and at least one of the other models (I prefer Classic Rock/marshall, Lead/boutique, or Metal/mesa); Line-6 Pocket-POD-Express (perfect - much easier to use than the fatter and more complex Pocket-POD). Get a Vox Amp-plug Cab which can be used with either the Vox or POD units. Rock on and fly right.

  • One Great protable!

As reviewed by Micheal on 11/15/2010

I recently purchased my own ultra-lite, and I gotta say it is awesome. I was actually looking around the guitar center for something I know that I can take with me anywhere I go. Tried others but this one stood out more to me and I actually lost track of time of how great the playing was. The tone is so excellent and the handling is for anyone whether your a beginner or advanced rocker. So I highly recommend this for your collection.

  • Great Sounding Guitar for the Size

As reviewed by marcifer on 1/2/2011

I had trouble finding a decent electirc guitar case that fit airline measurments for baggage that isn't considered oversized. I gave up and opted to get one of these instead and am very pleased with the purchase. Feels great and plays great. Using it with a BOSS JS-8 eBand player and it rocks with the effects for a nice acoustic sound through speakers or headphones, but it also sounds like a decent electric guitar. It can be strummed by itself but get at least a small amp for headphones (Vox amPlug Acoustic Korg PX5D effects processor, or Line-6 Pocket-POD EXPRESS). I chose this acoustic version because that's more of my style, but plan on getting Traveler's Speedster electric too. The workmanship is great. On mine they could have added just a tiny bit more filler to cover the a couple of frets on the top so that it would be smoothed out better; yes, a very minor detail, but for $300, it's important. Stays in tune pretty good too. Guitar Center's service is great, especially at their Kirkland, WA, store where I had it shipped ahead of time so it would be there when I got there. Thanks guys!
