  • Best Traveling Bass EVER!!

As reviewed by JERRY RAMIREZ on 9/28/2011

I just started to play the bass. I found it very difficult to travel with my regular bass. I purchased the Traveler Guitar TB-4 Bass and it is awesome!! It's compact, sounds great and very easy to travel with and store on planes. I am now able to keep up with my practice while I travel 3-4 days every other week. It is totally worth the money and I even saved myself a few bucks by ordering it through Guitar Center!!!

  • The TB-4P Bass from Traveler Guitar

As reviewed by Kenneth Burgner on 9/3/2013

I purchases this bass because I was looking for one to travel with. Overall I like the bass. It is very nicely put together and looks sharp. Flawless finish. The fret work is pretty good. There was one high fret causing a string buzz on the G string which is why I only gave it 4-stars. But it is past the 12th fret, so not a big deal. The bass came out of the box in-tune! The action was a tad high for my taste, but a tweak of the neck truss rod and lowering of the bridge saddles fixed that. The whole concept on this compact bass is pretty neat. The ability to have a headless bass and use standard single ball end strings is great. While cool having the tuning pegs recessed into the body, they are a little tricky to use. Also I have not found a place to attach my clip on tuner (probably a common issue with all headless guitars), so I had to dig out my old plug in tuner. The feel of this bass is very good. I really don't notice that is is a 32" inch scale, and with a 1.75" nut, P-Bass players will feel right at home. It is fairly light weight and balances nice when wearing it. Sound wise, this is one punchy bass! The Duncan pickups have a good amount of output and just sounds darn good! I can get a good finger style and slap tone from it. The built-in headphone amp also sounds good. Does not distort like allot of other bass headphone amps I tried. Traveler Guitar really thought out and executed this bass very well. From the headless design to the built-in headphone amp....as well as a input jack for a iPod or other MP3 player. Even the included gig bag is well made and provides a good amount of protection. I mainly play Jazz and Musicman basses, but if I need a P-Bass tone, I would not think twice about bringing the TB-4P to a gig.
