  • Fantastic instrument

As reviewed by Bob on 6/11/2009

Since I am unable to play traditional guitars do to shoulder problems, the Escape is life renewed! The neck rivals any acoustic-electric neck that I have played, and the headphone feature makes this instrument just plain fun. I play the Escape through a Boss AD-8 pedal to a standard electric amp when playing out, and the setup sounds great. I had the opportunity to contact the factory on a question, and found customer service to be very responsive and helpful. The only thing I would change on the guitar as delivered are the strings (I never liked D'Addario anyway). I use Elixer Phosphor Bronze extra light (.010 - .047) acoustic strings.

  • Great Little Guitar

As reviewed by pj on 6/12/2010

I have had my Traveller Escape for just over 3 years and have mostly used it for a practice guitar. It is perfect to just sit on the couch and play; it is very comfortable and I not disturb anybody else in the family. I have probably played thousands of hours on this gutar sitting very comfortably. The headphone jack is also a great feature, you just might want to use your own headphones, theirs anre worthless. I did have problems after several years with the jack giving me buzz and cutting in and out. It is a wierd jack and can only be replaced with one of theirs. I still gave this guitar a 5, though, because when I took it back to the factory they fixed it up, no charge, and even put a new neck on the guitar because some of my frets were lifting and they did not like the way they were. I didn't even ask them to do that. Great customer support! Overall I love my Escape!

  • Little Guitar, BIG Sound....

As reviewed by Tele-Caster on 2/28/2007

I play a Traveler Escape in live performance. Set-up on mine was perfect. Intonation is spot-on. The tuning stability is excellent. The solid body means no feedback issues, even in bad rooms with lousy P.A. gear. Sound quality was exactly what I was looking for, and the slight increase in sustain over hollow-bodies suits my penchant for melodic lead breaks well. The only downside I've found is that changing strings is a chore. Otherwise, I love my "Redneck Steinberger" and am very happy with it. I plan on buying the bass next.
