  • Have guitar, will travel!

As reviewed by Rick on 9/16/2008

I travel constantly by air (coach, naturally) for work, and this guitar is perfect for keeping up with composing and practice when I'm away from home. I'd like to get a sales rep deal with the manufacturer because so many people ask me about it on planes and in airports and want to check it out. They're actually selling a couple of other models in the SkyMall magazines now. The neck feels so good, and the sound quality is so high that it's inspiring to play. I'd gig with it, no problem. Plugged into an amp, it sounds as good as my Strat that cost three times as much. I don't know how it sounds clean, because I always have distortion on, so can't speak to that. The onboard headphone amp is okay if you want to keep the gadgets to a minimum, but I use a Vox AmPlug most of the time because has a bigger sound and doesn't take up much space. The headphones that come with it are comfy and sound good, but for noisy environments (e.g planes), I use my Shure isolating earphones. The case that comes with it is comfortable to carry, tough and well padded, and has lots of pocket space for my Boss Micro BR 4 track, cables, strings, batteries, instruction manuals, headphones, and all of the other junk I need for recording. This thing is so short that I can play it on the plane if there's an empty seat to my left, always fits in some airplane cabin space, and I've never had to gate check it. If you're shopping for an electric travel guitar, don't buy one until you try one of these!

  • Best travel guitar I have owned

As reviewed by Brian on 7/14/2008

I have owned several travel guitars, and this one surpasses them all. This is the first one I have played that has a neck that is comparable to my full size instruments. The tuners actually maintain the tuning; a frustrating inadequacy of some of the previous travel instruments I have owned. The electronics are also solid. The on-board headphone amp is certainly sufficient, but I use a Pandora, and the single humbucker sounds great with most of the patches. Overall, I am quite pleased with this guitar and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a portable instrument with a compact profile.

  • Great Guitar

As reviewed by Matt on 12/24/2007

This is a great guitar for anyone who travels. I got mine about two months ago and have taken it on the road all ready. The guitar plays great and has a really nice feel. The pocket rocket amp is great with headphones and puts out enough volume to leave your ears ringing. The guitar comes with a nice gig bag, and the compact size of the combo is the greatest plus for me. I highly recommend this anyone who's looking to play on the road!
