great buy

Comments about Traben Phoenix 5-String Bass:

i first heard/saw this bass at a skillet concert, so i tried it out and i've been happy ever since. it has a pretty wide array of settings for the sound and the low end sounds great. the only thing i do not like about this bass is that sometimes the input is bad but to fix this you just move the cord around a little and the problem is pretty much fixed so overall this is a very good bass for the price

Hot sound, hot looks.

Comments about Traben Phoenix 5-String Bass:

This bass is amazing. I first saw and heard this bass because of John Cooper of Skillet. The sound is clear and beautiful The paint job is beautiful, ranging from almost black in low light, to the amazing red in good light. The Traben Bigger Bridge really does make a difference in the sound, and it definitely makes this one of the coolest looking basses out there. The flames in the fretboard are so smooth and beautiful. The only down-side to this instrument is that it's pretty heavy. I'd recommend buying strap locks.

AMAZING!!

Comments about Traben Phoenix 5-String Bass:

I bought this about 1 year ago and i have never looked back since. The look catches everyone's eye and really comes to life with moderate lighting conditions. The tone is the best out of any bass i have ever played, and you can make it sound completely hollow or pound in the heavy lows. Even with a thciker neck, this thing craves speed. It will pull out the best that you have, and sounds beautiful with every playing style. From tapping to slapping, the Phoenix can do it all. My only "problem" is that the main volume nob likes to pop off, but that is nothing really. This is a must buy if you are looking for a 5 string!

Phoenix 5 string nothing else quite like it!

By Jammer

Comments about Traben Phoenix 5-String Bass:

A little over a year ago I was doing research on 5 string basses so I could purchase the best one for my money. I had read alot about Traben so I had to try one out. As soon as I saw it and plugged in I was hooked. The action was unbelievable. The sound had a bite to it like no other I had ever played. I have been a bass player for almost 29 years and have played alot of different basses. This is the ultmate bass for the price. Try it you will be hooked too!

It's a Head-Splitter

By SlamminDrums2000

Comments about Traben Phoenix 5-String Bass:

I have just one word: SKILLET!!!! I wen to a Skillet concert 2 nights ago, and I was VERY impressed with this bass. So was the bass player; he played this guitar exclusively all night long. He was freaking out, looking like he was having a siezure on-stage, and this bass still performed amazingly. It shook the entire stadium all night long, had a huge, edgy tone, and had more rumble than the bass drum. This is an amazing bass. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to shake their audience right out of the clothes. I plan on buying one as soon as possible.

This thing is sick!

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

Comments about Traben Phoenix 5-String Bass:

Sick sounds and sick looks, everyone watches when this thing is goin'. Fretboard inlay work is surprisingly well fit and polished. This thing is solid as can be, and yes that big flamey thing is the bridge and it rocks. The bass is long scale 35" which takes some getting used to because the frets are farther apart. Only downside, it's heavy, and hard to find a case that fits. I recommend a traben one to fit it.It's an amazing deal for the price. And it suits just about any sound.

Fast becoming a favorite

By Bass Loving Mutant

from Seattle, WA

Comments about Traben Phoenix 5-String Bass:

I own a number of basses, including some "classic", vintage instruments. When I got to looking at 5-string basses, a friend tipped me off to Traben. Until I played this bass, I thought the whole "big bridge" thing was a gimmick. Not so. The increased mass and contact points with the body give this thing monster resonance. The playability is magnificent--easily the equal of my instruments worth 4 times as much. It's feature-packed, great sounding and has looks-that-kill aesthetics. Just buy one and then check out US Masters, my other recent fave.

Awesome Bass!

By Phoenix

from Franklin, TN

Comments about Traben Phoenix 5-String Bass:

I played this bass in a shop near my town and I was amazed at the sheer awesomeness of it. At first glance, you can tell this bass is unique. As far as the bridge adding to its sustain... I don't think it's noticeable, but it does give the bass a unique tone that especially sounds good with bass distortion or overdrive. I won a special Sun model and I play it through a boss overdrive pedal and it is the best thing that's happened to me as a bass player. I'd recommend this bass for anyone seeking a unique bass that delivers exellent tone without having to sell your soul.
