Started by two guys looking to create awesome beats for their own tracks, Toontrack has grown to almost 30 employees across 4 countries, all of them songwriters and musicians themselves. Drumkit from Hell – a software synthesizer of heavy drum sounds made for metal music and used on albums by Meshuggah and Agorophobic Nosebleed – was the beginning, establishing Toontrack as an innovator in the drum sampling business at the turn of the century. Today, drum track creation software is still Toontrack's bread and butter.
EZ Drummer 2 makes it simple to go from rhythmic concept to completely mixed percussive track in a single program. Recorded at British Grove Studios in London by Grammy award-winning Chuck Ainlay, this updated version of EZ Drummer has five new kits worth of professional-quality samples. All the sounds are pre-mixed to sound like a finished production, making it as easy as possible to lay down great-sounding drums for your track.
To achieve next-level percussion, the gold standard is the best-selling Superior Drummer 2.0. With an interface as easy to use as EZ Drummer but all the additional in-depth features you could ever want, SD2.0 gives you studio engineer-level control over every individual drum component. Unlike EZ Drummer 2, SD2.0's samples are preserved exactly as recorded, allowing you ultimate mixing freedom.
Although best known for their drumming programs and extensions, Toontrack has lines for piano and mixing as well. EZ Keys Essential Pianos is like having a professionally-played Steinway and Sons model D grand, Östlind & Almquist upright and two world-class electric pianos – the Rhodes MK I and the Wurlitzer 200A – all at your fingertips. EZ Mix 2 offers numerous complete mastering effects settings, providing a quick, professional-sounding mix of your completed tracks.
Toontrack has a program to meet the individual songwriting and recording program needs of every musician. Each program has samples and presets played and designed by well-respected industry professionals, but don't limit yourself. Sound expansion libraries and MIDI extensions are available to help you create every major genre and sound you can imagine.
