Toontrack EZX Claustrophobic is a very open collection of drum samples. Why is this expansion pack for the EZdrummer sampler called Claustrophobic? Mainly because it was recorded in a small room. But don't be fooled. Using a variety of drumheads, room, and microphone configurations, Swedish metal skinsmith Per Mikaelsson (HEEL) has banged out the kind of beats that would fuse well with today's cutting edge R&B, hip-hop, and pop music. Sampled through a high-quality outboard with distortion, reverb, compression, and attack fields in the internal mixer it also allows you to access mixer presets by STS 9, Richard Devine, DJ Amplive, sub-ID and Count Bass D.   • It's all about the sounds here

    While some of the other EZX expansion kits are great for the grooves they contain, this set really shines in the area of sound. There is a huge variety of variations for each drum and they are all tight and snappy. This gives a really different feel for not just the new patterns included with this set, but also any of the patterns you already have through the base product or other expansion sets. The other great area is the mixer presets and the variety of overall mixes that you have at your fingertips. The mix combined with the sound variety is the unique thing here and makes this expansion set worth the price. I think a lot of the mix settings are designed for hip-hop, but I can see a lot of potential for any type of music you want to throw these kinds of sounds on.

    Like all EZ Drummer products this is VERY EASY to use. It also has some high quality sounding kits with tons of variety in them. The beats range from super simple to insanely syncopated. All in all a good add on.
