speaks well

By kris

from silverdale,wa

Comments about Tom Crown TC16 Trombone Cup Mute:

I have been using another brand of straight mute for years and thought they were all pretty much the same. We had an old, pretty distressed looking Tom Crown straight mute laying around so I took it on my theatre pit gig recently and now I don't think I will ever switch back. Pit playing requires a wide range and a lot of very soft controlled playing. My other mute will not speak below the bass cleff staff very well, and the Tom Crown is solid every time.

Didn't work well for me

By Terry Bull

from Buffalo, NY

Comments about Tom Crown TC16 Trombone Cup Mute:

I found this mute to be constructed well, but made of aluminum that it too thick. I had to work very hard to get a sound to project. I have since switched to a mute made of thinner aluminum and am much happier.
