I bought these on a whim one day and have never gone back....I take that back, once in deperation I grabbed some Martin Silk & Steel thinking they would be just as good. I was wrong. I used to swear by Martin S&S but anything else now sounds tiny and weak in comparison. Thes strings are nice on the fingers, the tone in un-real, and they last much much much longer than any other strings I have tried. GET THESE!!!

I have an amazing 00-45 Vintage, Rosewood Martin. Extraordinary tone. Very crisp, loud, resonant. Aged so better sounding each day. I was intrigued to try these stings, more out of curiosity than necessity and I am very disappointed. Not only are they the most expensive strings I have purchased, they are also the least enjoyable: no tone AT ALL. If I did not have such an undisputed, amazing sounding guitar with the cheapest strings, I would not be upset. So what could possibly be the reason for this. I used light gauge bronze strings. Ready to take them off after one week.

Not always available and expensive, but simply the best light gauge strings I've used for clarity of sound and long life.

The two tone deaf customers that left these strings bad reviews must work for Elixir cause they're the only two humans on the planet who claim these strings are no good.... Trust me, YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER SOUNDING STRING! Amazing tone, so easy to bend.... plays like BUTTER!

Comments about Thomastik AC111 Plectrum Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings - Light:

If you like the softer, old-school sound of silk & steel strings but would like a little of the edge you get with bronze, these are what you're looking for!

The silk winding under the bronze wrap gives the bass strings a rounder, mellower sound. Silk-wound strings are excellent for accompanying vocals! They leave a nice space for your voice.

If you're playing more energetic music with a pick and doing lead-work, these strings may not have the definition you need. But if you're playing fingerstyle or picking gently to accompany your singing. you're going to really like the sound.

They last a LONG time - they will outlast regular bronze strings by 3 or 4 times, so don't be afraid of the price point. You're probably money ahead over the long run, because they hold onto their tone long after most bronze strings have given it up.

Comments about Thomastik AC111 Plectrum Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings - Light:

I've been using TI Plectrum strings for 17 years. I have had then installed on both Taylor and Martin guitars as well as at least on Parker Fly. I like the flatwound strings, no finger squeak, and the overall sound is delicate and refined. I have tried a number of other more 'normal' acoustic strings but I always come back to Plectrums.

Comments about Thomastik AC111 Plectrum Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings - Light:

These are pricey but worth every penny. I put them on an archtop and primarily play fingerstyle. These give the tone I was looking for. They sound good without the acoustic amp and plugged in. I will get Medium gauge next time, but definitely the same Plectrums otherwise.

Comments about Thomastik AC111 Plectrum Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings - Light:

I have been using these strings exclusively for the last 2 years on a custom dreadnought style acoustic guitar. For the style I play, which is more sparse and ambient, on this style of guitar, these strings are unbeatable.

The bottom three bass strings in particular have this incredible resonance to them. Hit an open string and let it ring - the overtones are fantastic.

I'm not sure if these would be my first choice for a parlor style guitar (smaller body) or something where you want a bright and snappy tone. For deeper, bigger body to the tone, though, these strings are tops.

Comments about Thomastik AC111 Plectrum Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings - Light:

These strings have an awesome, mello sound. As others have reported, the G breaks easily. But they are still worth the money. I wish you could buy a pack of G's.

Comments about Thomastik AC111 Plectrum Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings - Light:

these strings sound great, they're not tinny, and they're low tension so you can finger pick them as easy as you would nylon strings. IF you're G string does die out whenever for whatever reason, buy a different G string. Any real musician knows you can buy strings seperate if you don't like one or two strings in a set. that's why there are "custom gagues" and "sets"

The string against which others should be compared

              By James Dunn

              from Burlington, VT

Comments about Thomastik AC111 Plectrum Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings - Light:

When new, these are the standard. Flat wound, so almost silent when sliding. Low tension - so easy to play it's like cheating - almost! Rich, warm tones. I've tried a lot of different strings and always come back to these. A little pricey but well worth it. Durability - about a month, when played every day. When they go, the brightness disappears in a hurry.
