I have a beautiful Taylor that I love and I hated the idea of sticking an ugly rubber plug in it to help with feedback trouble. Thank God I found this product! The quality is WAY beyond what I was expecting and it resolved my feedback problems instantly. What makes it even better is that is doesn't close off the sondhole all the way. And what really surprsed me is that my guitar still sounds great with it installed even when I'm not plugged in!!! I thought I'd have to pull it out every time I wanted to play acoustically. I just leave it in full time. Love it, it's worth every penny.

My wife and I run our Martin and Taylor guitars and our Rode mics through our Yamaha PA into Bag End speakers. The Rodes are very hot mics and require careful EQ'ing to eliminate feedback, leaving us little flexibility for further EQ'ing to control the guitars. The Luteholes looked like an elegant solution. Not so. Without the Lutehole inserted, we experienced low feedback problems on open E and A strings and on a fretted low G. With the Lutehole, we experienced -- surprise! -- low feedback problems on open E and A strings and on a fretted low G. There really was little difference in sound or control (and this was using the moderate-coltrol Lutehole model). In addition, because the LuteHole surface sits slightly higher than the guitar top, it occasionally interfered with my fingerstyle picking. And finally, because I'd ordered the maple Lutehole to match my sitka spruce top as closely as possible, the strings over the Lutehole were more difficult to see.
Looks great. Does nothing.
Very ornate carving. Very ineffective feedback control.
A grossly overpriced windowscreen.

People forget they've seen me before, but remember my guitar

Comments about The Lute Hole Company 4" Soundhole Covers for Feedback Control in Maple or Walnut:

This is my 2nd Lutehole. My first was about 10 years ago for an Ibanez A/E equipped with a Fishman Sonicore. I've played that guitar at almost every gig I've had since. The most recent Lutehole was purchased for my 2016 Taylor 214ce ES2. The newer one isn't quite as glossy as the old one, I'll probably hit it with a light coat of spray on polyurethane, but the new one has a more snug fit in the sound hole, which I like. No appreciable alteration to sound unplugged or plugged. It may help with feedback (a variable notch filter handles most issues), but it's mostly an aesthetic choice.

Comments about The Lute Hole Company 4" Soundhole Covers for Feedback Control in Maple or Walnut:

I had trouble amplifying my Taylor acoustic guitar through it's internal pickup due to amplifier induced feedback, and resonance causing some of the strings to vibrate even when I didn't want them vibrating. After installing this light soundhole cover, the feedback and resonance disappeared. Good buy, and I recommend this product to help you with your feedback problems. It looks nice, too.

The rubber gasket thing tore when I was putting it into the sound hole of my guitar. I can still sort of use it, but I was hoping for a snugger fit (because the gasket is torn, it is loose)

This is a beautifully crafted and intricate piece that really stands out when looking at your guitar. I hate having to use a sound hole cover, but this item makes it bearable with a little class. Does fairly well in cutting feedback problems.

I love this! The first time I had ever seen one was on Jon Foreman's guitar so I had to have one. It's awesome! There's no difference in sound, if anything it sounds better and it looks amazing! The only. Negative thing i would say about it is that it's a little difficult to install. The foam doesn't seem to hold up very well when installing and i had to use a butter knife to help ease it into the sound hole. Other than that, i highly recommend this and have already gotten a lot of compliments on it!

Comments about The Lute Hole Company 4" Soundhole Covers for Feedback Control in Maple or Walnut:

I thought these hole covers would muffle the sound but they do not. When not plugged in the guitar sound pretty good also. They do add to the looks of the guitar in a good way if it matches the top wood or even contrasts the color. I say, try to match the best you can. I think it added to the overall looks, myself.

I perform as a solo acoustic act and play seated on a stool. Because I use a loop pedal, I need to hear what the pedal is producing and have a monitor on the floor right in front of me. The lute cover cuts down on feedback in this configuration. It was very easy to install on my DY62C Yairi. No modifications - it fit like a glove. It also looks great, and has generated a lot questions and interest in my guitar. My son has tried it, and he has a heavier right hand than I do. He finds it hard not to strike the cover with the pick. I have not found this to be the case. I got the walnut medium, and it does not perceptibly diminish the sound or tone when playing unplugged. There are some variations in the stain on mine (its not uniform), but it actually makes it blend in better with my guitar which has been played for a while.

I mostly play through a PA at special events and I have to say it has made a Big Change in sound and volume. I have used other products and they work but it seems like I loss quit a bit of tone . I have two Martins that carry to my events and I am always asked about my Lute hole covers.
                      Thank you very Much. TC
