Overview

You will immediately respond to the classic "chop" only a quality mandolin like the LM-375-VSM F-Style Mandolin can deliver. The Loar hand-carved the spruce tops to optimize each instrument's individual character, and the thin "V" profile of the maple neck fits comfortably in the player's hand. The removal of the fretboard extension beyond the 20th fret allows for easy strumming without the classic problem of getting hung up on the extended upper frets.

Grassroots Series mandolins are finished with Grover tuners, D'Addario strings and The Loar's unique "Harp" logo headstock decal. Whether for traditional bluegrass or more modern styles, their Grassroots Series delivers the tone, style and vibe today's mandolin players want from their instruments.

Comments about The Loar LM-375 Grassroots Series F-Style Mandolin:

This is my first mandolin and I have only had it for two weeks, but so far I have been very happy with it. The tone sounds great and it feels quality made. It is taking some getting used to the small frets and the double strings (I play the electric guitar) but these are not a negative factor. It stays in tune well enough. When the strings stretch out more I am sure it will stay in tune better. When I first got it one of the E strings broke when I first tuned it. I believe this was due to the tailpiece cutting into the string because of the 12 hook design it has. I purchased a new E string and moved the strings to eliminate the extra hooks and I have not had a problem with it breaking. After tuning the mandolin from adjusting the strings I noticed the bridge was leaning. I took it to a local music shop and they set the bridge straight again. All in all this had been a great first mandolin, and it would probably suit more experienced players as well. The pictures I provided show it in a Gator Journeyman Series case which fits it perfectly.
