  • Like the Man Said: The One You Keep

As reviewed by Tech 21'd on 11/8/2010

I'm nearing my 4th year on this amp. As a jazzer I'm pretty much nailed to the clean channel, which is very articulate. I love Fenders, but I actually found the uber-sensitivity to be annoying, since I could often hear myself depressing the string before I plucked it. (I know there are plenty of you out there who understand). The Tech 21 is a smooth beast on clean channel, and for those who need distortion it covers that, perhaps not as well as some others (but really, I don't give a rip about that). Nuts and bolts analysis: it's lightweight, powerful, and has CLASS. That vintage tube-y class sounds of jazz greats like Charlie Christian, Kenny Burrell, Tony Mottola and, yes, even Pat Metheny and Larry Carlton. It's loud enough to stand out at a mid-sized (100 or so) venue, and controllable enough for practice or miked recording at home. Love it. It's not "cheap" but, frankly, it's worth every damned penny.

  • Great Anaolog Amp!

As reviewed by Les Johns on 11/15/2011

This is not my first quality solid state analog amp. I give this one high marks for great tones that sound way better than the current crop of digital amps. Lot of versatility and takes pedals well. Great loop and line out make this a great gigging amp. Very well built also. You can't go wrong here folks. Highly recommended!

  • Best solid state amp out there

As reviewed by Sunlapse on 8/15/2006

The TM60 is a fine amp for its price. Analog emulation of tube amps, which admittedly isn't all that great, but gets a good sound of its own. Channel 1, the Fender channel, gets a GREAT clean sound, especially if you've got a great guitar, and does an excellent overdriven tweed sound once you get the drive and midrange Punch knob up. The second channel is solid state sounding and undefined. The first channel is still great and takes pedals well too. Effects loop and reverb are also good. The TM60 makes for a great recording amp, and a manageable live amp.
