simply awesome

I own the single channel BDDI and upgraded to the 3 channel one because I found that I was constantly changing setting. The sound on this unit is just awesome. Really good tube emulation. Obviously its not exact, but the sound you get is very usable. I use this for all different styles of music. Rock, funk, hip hop, metal. Its very versatile and built like a tank. I have used this with active and passive 4 and 5 strign fretted and fretless basses and have been equally as impressed. Highly recommended for any bass player.

Great Tone

This pedal will make your tone sound 100 times better through a solid state amp. I play through a 200W Acoustic B200H head and a Hartke 4 X 10 4.5 Bass module. Not only does it give me a smoother tone but it also boosts the volume and makes my lows much more responsive. Like someone said before, it is difficult to change settings on the fly because you have to remember where the original was and go from there, but with 3 save options I have never needed to. My friend had the one channel which is why i decided to buy this. Sounds just like the 1 channel Sansamp bass driver but is only $10 more for 2 extra channels. If you want it, BUY IT! Awesome Pedal.

Excellent

If you haved a tube amp, dont bother. If you have a solid state like i do and you want some tube-esque distortion this is the pedal for you. I can get any level or type of distortion or overdrive i need. I play a Rickenbacker 4003 into this into an svt450 and i get a great tone out of it. Great for players who want opetions with their tone.

Overdrive or Direct - Still great

I've had this little dandy for about a year now and I don't think I can take the stage without it. You get the growl of the overdrive that you really can't achieve through most amps (I'm running this in front of a SVT3-Pro and a 610), and the icing on the cake is the programmable settings. Playing multi-faceted styles of music means you're having to calm down in the valleys and get up-close and personal at your peaks. Can't really do that with a single channel overdrive. This pedal allows you experiment with your sounds and really find your niche. Another thing is letting this little guy act as your pre-amp. Most amps will have an input in the back that will let you plug in a preamp. No more fussing trying to get your tone out of an amp that doesn't have any. This can fix a bad sounding bass head. The last great bonus is the DI built in. No more sound techs trying to mike your cab: just plug the mic cable straight into the side and you're pumping through the venue like a beast. All in all, this a must-have for any musician who's serious about versatility and reliability.

Tech 21 SansAmp Bass Driver

This is a must have for all serious bass player. A friend recommended it to me saying, "I've never seen a professional bass player without it." Upon receiving the driver and getting it set like i wanted...the sound was amazing. Fat. Thats a good word to describe it. It makes everything loud but yet does not distort it. There are so many different sounds you can get from it, and the 3 channel and saving ability makes it so easy to switch from style to style. It's a must have!
